AWARENESS

Native American traditions were based on the knowledge of the rhythm of life which they received through the observation of Nature. All of Nature expresses itself in circular patterns.

Movement in the Medicine Wheel and in Native American ceremonies is circular, and typically in a clockwise. This helps to align with the forces of Nature, such as gravity and the rising and setting of the Sun.

The Medicine Wheel teachings are based on a circular pattern and cyclical set of four: the four Seasons, the four stages of Life, the four Bio-psychosocial and spiritual aspect of a person.

There is little understood without any written records about the meaning of the wheel. Each NAtive American communtity or tribe has a different way of utilizing the medicine wheel and the out comes are all the same. It teaches us to have respect for nature and helps us to develop into a wise, healthy human being.

Today, the Medicine Wheel has become a major symbol of peaceful interaction among all living beings on Mother Earth... representing harmonious connections

“Each direction on the Wheel constitutes a path of self-realization and self-initiation into the mysteries of life which can lead you to the very core of your being where you can make contact with your own High Self (your Spiritual Self or True Self). Each path can help you to acquire the knowledge to work changes that will put meaning and purpose into your life, bringing enlightenment and fulfillment. Laframboise
