We would like to share some of them with you. “Congrats on another beautiful issue of Calabasas Style Magazine! Thank you for including the NCL Ball. You always do a great job of highlighting people/organizations who strive to make a positive difference in our community. If all media would shift their focus in that same direction (versus sensationalizing negative behavior), more people would be inspired to follow the example and the world would be a better place. FROM THE NFL to Mr. Dad a base for his many travels across the nation. Back again in California, Joselio was able to spend much more of his time there, closer to his mother, Yolanda, who was still in Inglewood. With Amani finishing up law school in Philadelphia, the pair fostered a longdistance relationship. After law school, Amani made the move to Calabasas to join Joselio. From then on, this power couple has been thriving in the community. The year 2013 saw Joselio’s retirement from the NFL as well as Amani passing the bar exam. These two events coincided harmoniously for their little family unit. After passing the bar, Amani began working at one of the most respected law firms in the world for

law,

and Family Law Center in Woodland Hills. This firm receives clients from all over the world who are struggling with issues of infertility. Amani is incredibly passionate about what she does at the firm, stating, “We really do facilitate fairytale happy endings. We help build families.” In 2015, Joselio’s daughter, Skyleigh, came to live with the pair in Calabasas. Skyleigh is now a 6th grader at AC Steele Middle School, and she is absolutely thriving. Joselio mentions, “Family is incredibly important to me. I want her to see that hard work and sacrifice really does pay off.” Amani and Skyleigh have had a close relationship since Skyleigh was 4-years-old. Amani tries every day to be a positive example of a passionate female figure working hard and dreaming big. “We meld naturally,” Amani gushes. “We love hanging out as a family.” From driving Skyleigh to school or soccer practice, Joselio has to channel his own mother, Yolanda, who raised five boys. “Mom never missed a practice or a game. If it was miles away or down the street, she took care of us,” Joselio remembers. His talented pianist father, John Hanson, met Yolanda in a music class at Howard University, where she was classically trained in opera. The pair melodically clicked and were soon married. John suffered from multiple sclerosis and was bedridden from the time Joselio was 2-years-old. Yolanda cared for her husband, plus her five growing men, until John passed away in 2000. “All the success that my brothers and I have encountered has been a testament to mom.”

Although she still lives in Inglewood, the former opera singer spends most of her time in Calabasas. She loves to dance and march in Panamanian parades throughout Southern California to represent her love of her Panamanian culture. She and Skyleigh have developed quite a bond through their mutual love of music and singing. Joselio and Amani were married in August of 2016. From Joselio’s world-famous barbecue in the backyard to swimming in their beautiful pool to playing with the indoor golf simulator, the hardworking Hanson family members are all self-described homebodies. Joselio’s priorities have undeniably shifted since his time in the NFL. His number-one priority now is family, making sure his daughter has the best life possible. Joselio and Amani are happy to announce that they are expecting. The newest Hanson, a baby girl, is due to arrive in August of 2017. The Hansons look forward to growing their family in their beautiful slice of heaven in Calabasas. n If you know a great family or individual to profile, please contact us at: stylepublishing@gmail.com.

AID FOR HOPE GIVE BACK IN

CALABASAS

____________________________________ ____________________________________ Photography by Melissa Westervelt

Aid for Hope was started by 17-yearold CHS student Jacob Turobiner as a way of giving back and making a difference in the community. Jacob decided to create a first-aid pouch to be given to the homeless who sometimes have trouble with blisters or small scrapes and cuts that become infected and lead to bigger health issues. In doing so, the hope is to make them a little more comfortable and reduce infection. Jacob engaged his friends, family, and greater community to come together and collect first-aid supplies to fill the pouches. Each one contains BandAids, gauze, antiseptic cream, alcohol swabs, socks, and ChapStick. He invited people to help fill the bags with the supplies to make sure they could increase their outreach. Jacob launched Aid for Hope by partnering with Hope of the Valley Shelter. He has distributed over 500 pouches so far and continues to service

The Latest Lift

Silhouette Instalift is the new scalpel-free facelift

By Anna D Guanche MD FAAD Board Certified Dermatologist The latest in lifts is a 40-minute, youth-enhancing procedure that suspends the face with absorbable sutures. Everyone in cosmetic surgery is looking for that lift that involves no cutting and little downtime. Technology on lifting via skin-tightening energy devices and cheek fillers is ever advancing. These modalities aren’t going anywhere, but now, what was once old is new again with the use of sterile sutures to suspend the face. The Silhouette Instalift® was FDA approved in April 2015—became available in late 2016—and is a powerful, safe addition to the armamentarium against sagging jowls. This is not your momma’s thread lift. In the past, proline threads were used that had barbs and knots and stayed permanently under the skin. The safety and comfort profile of the newer absorbable Instalift® sutures is greatly improved. After assessment of each patient’s goals and determination that the patient is a good candidate, the clinical assessment begins. Vectors for lift are mapped to target and lift problem areas. A local anesthetic is used to numb entry points for the suture, and then, it is threaded upward toward the ear and then downward toward the areas in need of lifting. The excess portions of the suture are then trimmed. The skin is lifted mechanically by the suture, which is anchored to the tissue with tiny

It is appealing to the same type of patient that would come in for fillers, since it is a relatively simple, quick procedure with little to no downtime and results that last 12 to 18 months. With fully natural-looking results, this procedure is predicted to become as popular as Botox®. It was the first of three events honoring Knopfler for her dedication to education, Cal Lutheran, and the university’s Jewish students. Donations made in lieu of gifts helped fund the newly named Clara Knopfler Jewish Leadership Scholarship. The theme of Knopfler’s birthday celebration was “L’Dor V’Dor: From Generation to Generation.”

Knopfler’s

with members of Cal Lutheran’s Hillel club reflects that commitment, which holds an important place in Judaism, to passing knowledge and traditions from one generation to the next. A native of Romania, Knopfler survived the horrors of several Nazi concentration and labor camps, including Auschwitz. She was liberated in January 1945 and spent three months trekking back to Romania. Knopfler speaks frequently to educate people about the dangers of hatred and the importance of acceptance, freedom, and respect for all. Her memoir, I Am Still Here: My Mother’s Voice, was published in 2007, and she is working on a second book featuring hundreds of moving letters she received. Clara now resides at University Village Thousand Oaks across the street from Cal Lutheran.

EMPOWERING STRENGTH AT EPX ELITE PERFORMANCE By Sara Adler Photography by Tuan Tran My name is Sara Adler, and I am one of EPX Elite Performance veteran coaches. Entering my fifth year in the fitness industry, I like to bring a unique style to my training and am constantly staying up-to-date with new research and methods. Specializing in movement correction, strength, and fat loss, I strive to help my clients reach their goals and live a healthier and more-fulfilled lifestyle. Being a woman in a male-dominated industry, I quickly learned how to turn what is normally looked at as a hurdle into motivation. Wanting to “lift like the boys” and prove to myself and to them that a woman can do anything a man can pushed me to become the best version of myself, both as an individual and a coach. Feeling the strength of my body and the impact it had on my life outside the gym, I took this newfound determination and used it to break stereotypes and to focus on relating to a wide range of clientele. I love teaching my clients to empower their strengths and to never let anyone tell them that they “can’t.” Carol Truscheit has been working with me for just shy of two years and doing great. But when she first came to me, Carol had been told by doctor after doctor that she would never be able to lift her arms over her head due to past injuries. Staying true to breaking down the walls of “can’t,” Carol can now successfully push weight over her head with absolutely no pain. When Misha Shokrei came to me, she said that her experiences with trainers had only been negative, making her feel less than and unable to be successful. Two years later, Misha has not only lost over 30 inches but she has taken charge of her life and is living the healthy and fulfilled lifestyle she always wanted. Training is much more than just coming to the gym and lifting weights; it is EPX Elite Performance 21522 Ventura Blvd. Woodland Hills epxculture.com 818.245.5008

Ask the

Pharmacist

Q A

I have been having terrible headaches. How do I know if they are migraines and what can I do to relieve them? I have tried Tylenol, Advil, and Excedrin Migraine with little success. A migraine can cause a severe throbbing pain or a pulsing sensation, usually on just one side of the head. Migraines are often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and extreme light and sound sensitivity. Migraine attacks can cause significant pain for hours to days and can be so severe that the pain is disabling. Warning symptoms, known as “aura,” may occur before or with the headache. These can include flashes of light, blind spots, or tingling on one side of the face or in an arm or leg. The medications you have tried are a good start. However, if taken too often, they could cause stomach ulcers and bleeding or liver damage. They can also cause rebound headaches, which is a good enough reason to limit their use. To begin, find out if anything is triggering your headaches and if so, avoid these triggers. Potential triggers include foods, especially salty or processed foods; alcohol (often red wine); stress; and weather changes. Hormonal changes can also trigger migraines in women, particularly when estrogen levels drop. There is some evidence that herbs, vitamins, and minerals can decrease the frequency of headaches. These include the herb feverfew, high-dose riboflavin (vitamin B2), coenzyme Q10, and magnesium. The most effective prescription medications are the “triptans.” There are many of them on the market in pill, nasal spray, and injectable forms. Some are available as generics. They are very effective in stopping migraines, especially when taken at the first sign. Preventative prescription medications are also available. You would be a good candidate for preventative therapy if you have four or more debilitating attacks a month, if attacks last more than 12 hours, and if pain-relieving medications are not helping. Migraines are often undiagnosed and untreated. If you regularly experience signs and symptoms of migraine attacks, keep a record of your attacks and how you treated them. Then, make an appointment with your doctor to discuss your headaches. Brenda Johnson, R.Ph. Calabasas Pharmacy Owner Inside Gelson’s Market 22277 Mulholland Hwy. Ask the

Pediatrician Will allergies for children be severe this spring after the rainfall?

Although we really needed the rain, the growing grasses and trees did bring more pollen and more springtime allergies. Allergic kids will have more itchy and runny noses and eyes, sneezing, nose rubbing, and coughing—all symptoms of allergic rhinitis (aka hay fever). Nasal allergies not only make kids feel miserable but they interfere with school (it’s hard to concentrate when congested and itchy). They also increase infections like sinusitis and lead to asthma attacks. Don’t wait until your child is miserable. If he or she needed allergy medication last spring, consider starting as soon as possible to prevent symptoms. First, use nasal saline spray daily and have your child blow (if possible) to help flush pollen, irritants, and mucus out of the nose. Your pediatrician may also recommend steroid nasal spray. For quick relief, an antihistamine will help. Or give it an hour before exposure, like going to soccer practice outside. Use non-sedating meds (like Claritin, Allegra, Zyrtec) as they won’t cause sleepiness. Prevent spring allergy triggers by having kids stay inside during early morning hours when pollen counts are highest. For example, have them exercise after school not before. Keep windows closed. Bathe kids after school to remove pollens and/ or wash their hair at night so they’re not sleeping with pollen. Shield eyes from pollens with sunglasses and keep hair pulled back under a hat. Also, wash pets so pollens aren’t tracked into the house. Don’t let allergies interfere with life. With prevention and treatment, children can run, play, sleep soundly, succeed in school, and enjoy springtime. Tanya Altmann, MD, FAAP, is the founder of Calabasas Pediatrics. FLEUR DE LIS ORGANICS LAUNCHES BRAND: ORGANIC SOAP BAKERY In 2016, Organic Soap Bakery was developed in response to an announcement of an FDA ban on chemicals commonly found in antibacterial hand soap. This announcement mentioned that some chemicals commonly found in soaps may actually do more harm than good, including unanticipated hormonal effects and bacterial resistance. Organic Soap Bakery founders Aida Caefer, a registered nurse, and Beatrice Laver, a Los Angeles-based stylist and former Romanian ballerina, wanted to create an organic skincare line that addressed these issues. On Saturday, February 4, Organic Soap Bakery officially launched their full line of bar soap products at Fleur de Lis Organics. These all-natural soaps also have an added unique artisanal touch in design. They are not only a visual luxury, but also amazing on the skin. From truffles to cupcakes, each of the soap designs has an elegant appeal targeted to a season or customized event.

INNERSTARGIRL: CREATING A CULTURE OF KINDNESS By Lori Berezin A former school counselor with a Master’s in Psychology, Lisa Tiano created InnerStarGirl (innerstargirl.com) with her daughters Brynn, age 15, and Mia, age 12, to help girls deal with the myriad of emotional and social issues of adolescence. After daughter Brynn noted how intensely girls were bullying each other online and around school, Lisa and her kids created an organization to help combat the low self-esteem, poor body image, peer pressure, and academic stresses these girls face. Mia, a 7th grader in middle school, helps with all the social networking and enjoys speaking with her mom and older sister at workshops, events, and school assemblies. Their core mission is to give young girls and women the tools to make positive changes in their lives. To that end, they created a non-judgmental, environment-integrating group discussion, role-playing, art, yoga, music, and more to help foster healthy self-esteem and successful relationships. Since then, Brynn, a sophomore at Calabasas High School, organized a viewing of a documentary on bullying, Finding Kind, to a rapt audience of over 1,400 students. Girl Scout troops and national organizations have invited them to form InnerStarGirl workshops, and elementary and middle schools have asked them to do more school assemblies. Teachers are even incorporating their lessons on bullying into their curriculum. Lisa is currently working on a book of tips for girls on how to deal with negative situations that affect them in everyday life. She realizes when girls can speak up for themselves and others. It will alleviate much of the bullying done today across social media and elsewhere. She hopes it will also lead to a long overdue “culture of kindness.”

ANNE STAR: GAME FOR CHANGE AT HARVARD TENNIS PARK By Lori Berezin When tennis enthusiast and Calabasas resident Anne Star met Coach Marty Woods at a pro-am tennis tournament in Calabasas seven years ago, she was inspired by his work mentoring underprivileged children through the Pete Brown Jr. Tennis Program at Harvard Tennis Park in South L.A. Anne and her husband, Todd, along with their son, Jonathan, who is now on tennis scholarship at Tulane, jumped in to help. The program offers free tennis lessons, rackets, shoes, and clothes to children in grades K through 12. They also hold special events and tennis outings. This year, Anne and her husband helped organize the holiday event and scored big points with the largest turnout ever of over 450 children and parents. Anne and the coaches help instill sportsmanship, self-respect, and discipline. The kids create lasting friendships and have great fun. The program also offers tutoring to help keep students on the ball at school as well as on the court. A few of the students receive scholarships and some are the first in their families to attend college. Their lives are forever changed as they learn skills to help them escape the cycle of poverty. The program’s current goal is to raise $4,500 to hire an additional coach and allow 22 new kids into the program. Those looking to contribute can visit their website: pbjtp.org.

CAROLE AND BOB DONAHUE: SHAPE FUTURE GENERATIONS By Lori Berezin Long-time Calabasas residents, educators Carole Donahue and her husband Dr. Robert Donahue founded SOSMentor Shaping Our Students in 2,000 to encourage underserved youth to make healthier choices. They switched gears from their initial concept of a college and career readiness program when kids at a downtown high school remarked that they were more concerned about childhood obesity and diabetes than drugs, guns, and violence. Each year, they provide free nutrition and physical activity education to over 16,000 low-income students across Los Angeles. They hope to bring their programs to Calabasas schools through the help of local individual and corporate partners. Nearly 42% of young people in Los Angeles County are overweight or obese. Using cutting-edge educational techniques such as peer mentoring, service learning, and artistic expression, the SOSMentor Shaping Our Students programs train kids of all ages to eat healthier and lead more physically active lives. They also incorporate mindfulness, yoga, and stress-reduction practices into the curriculum to enable at-risk kids to choose a healthier lifestyle. The team is currently looking for passionate individuals to join their board and make a difference in the lives of low-income kids and their families. Their annual fundraising event, A Toast to Healthy Kids, will be held on April 26 at the San Antonio Winery. Tickets can be purchased on their website sosmentor.org

SOPHIE HELFEND: SPEAKING UP FOR ANIMALS By Lori Berezin Photography by Ivan Hive We have all been touched by an animal at some point in our lives. Most of us are also aware of the many abuses our animal friends suffer at the hands of humans. Calabasas High School student Sophie Helfend speaks out for those animals to raise awareness about animal cruelty. She started a club at her school to support the efforts of an amazing organization called the Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation, founded by animal rights advocate Marc Ching. After learning about the horrific practice of torturing dogs before slaughtering them for meat during the Yulin Dog Meat Festival in China, Marc set out to rescue these beloved creatures in Asia. His foundation also maintains a website (reportanimalabuse.org) where concerned citizens can leave tips regarding possible cases of local animal abuse throughout Los Angeles. Once Sophie learned about Marc and his organization’s courageous work, she knew she wanted to help. She now volunteers at the local Animal Hope and Wellness Foundation shelter in Sherman Oaks, where she cares for some of the dogs Marc brings back from China and others. She is amazed by their resilience and ability to trust again. Sophie and her cousin, AJ Eckstein, also plan a fundraiser every few months to benefit Animal Hope and Wellness. They’ve already raised over $3,800 and will continue to raise funds to help Marc and his heroic efforts. If you are interested in donating or adopting or getting involved with this amazing organization please log on to animalhopeandwellness.org.

On February 11, 2017, Sierra Canyon School gathered as a community at the beautiful Four Seasons Westlake Village and raised over $200,000 in one evening. The school came together to celebrate every individual who makes Sierra Canyon such a vibrant and special place. A premiere independent college preparatory school, Sierra Canyon embraces academic and personal excellence. Each student is treated as an individual with the opportunity to strive and attain his or her best. Goin’ to a Go-Go: An Evening of Motown Magic was an opportunity to appreciate the wonderful experiences each child has every day at school and the resources they are given to step into their futures as empowered as they can be. Jim Skrumbis, Sierra’s Head of School, together with MCs Dondre Whitfield of Queen Sugar and Eric Stromer (voted one of PEOPLE magazine’s “Sexiest Men Alive”) and special appearances by Melissa Rivers, Terrell Davis, and others, all made the evening a smash hit.

Recycling 101: Recycle

the Right Stuff

By Irene Marshall Earth Day is coming up April 22. We encourage everyone to do something that day for the environment. Look around for ways you can improve upon the way you recycle and have a more ecofriendly lifestyle. Many of us feel we are doing our part separating the trash and recycle materials into two different bins. However, many of us are doing it wrong and causing contamination to the recycled items. The overall United Sates recycling rate is very low because there is so much junk mixed in with the actual recyclables. Every day people throw away tons of garbage, plastic bags, wrappers, Styrofoam, coffee cups, plastic straws, garden hoses, and more into recycling bins. This type of garbage contaminates the good recyclables, making them worthless. People want to do the right thing, but sometimes we forget a few of the rules or we need a refresher on what we can and can’t recycle. When we forget or get confused, we add to the contamination

The BMW i8: The Future is Here By Dustin Troyan Photographed by BMW

The BMW i8. You have seen it traveling down the road. Is it a space ship? Is it an exotic car? Is it fast? Perhaps an electric car or a hybrid? What is that car and what is it like? The BMW i8 is a bit of all of the above. It is indeed an exotic car in its own right. Is it fast? Yes. The zero-to-sixty time is around four seconds, very close to any of its contemporaries. It does offer a top speed of 155 mph, which is not in the “supercar” territory but still probably more than you need for your street-driving needs. Yes, it is exotic. The i8 is a plug-in hybrid that many think will be the future paradigm for the “supercar.” The BMW i8 is its own car. It offers just enough speed that you can keep up with just about everything out there with the exception of the world’s fastest cars, but it offers a tremendous amount of comfort and technology, not to mention that it is environmentally friendly. The car is very balanced from just about every perspective. It is truly eye catching. An extremely generous amount of carbon fiber defines the i8. It cuts corners like a sports car should while offering technology that would make any tech geek proud. As a guy who loves gasoline, this car is incredible. The i8 experience is a leap into the future. The balance of sports, exotic, technology, and speed rolled into a package any enthusiasts would love to add to their stable. My suggestion is to take one for a test drive; it is the balance of all things relevant in the automotive world at an incredible value. Thank you South Bay BMW for the press car. Etiquette Restaurant

By Lori Berezin While some of the rules of dining etiquette have changed, it is still important to make a favorable impression among your guests and be welcomed back by the restaurant owners and staff. Here are a few tips and reminders we wish everyone would follow. Silence is truly golden when it comes to cell phone use in restaurants. Switch your phone off or to vibrate mode. Your companions and other patrons will thank you for it. It’s also never too early to teach your children good restaurant manners. Noisy youngsters can easily ruin the experience for others. Another restaurant pet peeve is diners who arrive more than 15 minutes late for a reservation and then expect it to still be honored. Do your best to ensure that everyone arrives close to the scheduled time. If plans change, call the restaurant to cancel. Remember, others might be waiting for your spot. When ordering wine, if you don’t want to mention a specific price, point to a wine on the menu that falls within your range. If it tastes off, it is perfectly reasonable to send it back. This is true for your food as well. And don’t just assume it’s okay to bring your own liquor. Check with the restaurant beforehand, so everyone remains in good spirits. A few tips on tipping…if you are dissatisfied with your dining experience, simply leaving a bad tip will not tell the waiter or manager why you were displeased. Instead, calmly explain why so that you or others may benefit from your input down the road. Conversely, be sure to consider the cost of liquor when calculating your tip. These suggestions are but the tip of the iceberg. Just remember, mutual respect goes a long way. Now, bon appétit. n

Calabasas Chamber of Commerce Member Spotlight The impact on small business of being a member of your local Chamber… Are you ready to join your local chamber? If you aren’t already a member, keep in mind that you can’t just sign up to be a member of your local chamber to reap the benefits of chamber membership. Paying your annual dues just isn’t enough. You must also make an investment of time and effort in chamber activities and become involved. Simply put, what you get out of chamber membership is directly relative to what you put in. When I was asked to join the Calabasas Chamber, I never hesitated. Why wouldn’t I want to be a part of such a respected community organization with a reputation for longevity and success? I was honored, and my Allstate agency joined the Chamber. I have been a member for almost four years and have served on the Board of Directors for three years. I have also enjoyed serving on the Government Affairs and Deputy Committees. If a business is to gain maximum value from your chamber membership, you must be an active participant in chamber-sponsored events, and serve on a chamber committee. Membership In a local chamber brings credibility and a positive perception to your business. Being an active chamber member increases your visibility in the community and provides numerous networking opportunities and professional leadership development. Consumer studies show that when a customer knows that your insurance company is a member of a local chamber, they are 43% more likely to do business with your agency. We hope to see you at the next event! Sincerely, Kari Souza Contreras Senior Sales Agent, Allstate

Dream Where Albert Einstein Dreamt

THE WILLOWS

By Irene Marshall A Mediterranean-style estate, nestled in the heart of Palm Springs, was built in 1925 for William Mead and his wife Nella, a prominent Los Angeles housing developer, businessman, and philanthropist. There were many owners over the years, and in 1994, it was bought by ER doctors Tracy Conrad and Paul Marut. They spent two years restoring it to its grandeur and turned into an eightroom private villa and luxury inn – the perfect place for peace, privacy, and solitude. This October, The Willows celebrated 20 years since they welcomed their first guest, attorney Gloria Alright. In the early years, Albert Einstein was a frequent visitor of one of the owners, prominent New York Attorney Samuel Untermyer. Einstein spent much time there for peace and solitude, along with his wife Elsa, who was captivated by the tranquil desert. Marion Davies, the famous silent screen star and longtime mistress to William Randolph Hearst, resided at the Willows from 1955 to 1960. Other famous guests over the years included President Gerald Ford, Diane Keaton, and Cameron Diaz, to name a few. Many rooms have been named after the famous guests: the Einstein Room, the Marion Davies Room, and The Library, where Paul Thomas Anderson spent four months writing the Academy Award-winning screenplay There Will Be Blood. Also, there is the Rock Room, which was built around an enormous bolder on the land and protrudes into the bathroom, while the shower splashes off of it. The eight-room villa – with sweeping terraces, alfresco ceilings, and fireplaces in every room – is gated, secluded, and surrounded by boulders and bougainvillea.

k c a b t s a F e t The Ultima

By Dustin Troyan Photography by David Rosenthal We call Supercar Sunday “Supercar Sunday” for a reason. It is not uncommon for the rarest and most exotic of cars to pull into the show and park like daily drivers, but then, there are the other truly special cars that stop by. When the “Producer” first pulled into Supercar Sunday a few years ago, it was a huge honor. Everybody, and I mean everybody, went crazy. Even though the “Producer” is a couple years old, it is truly a show stopper. If you’re walking through the show on a “regular” day and then you see it, the car just grabs you and you know that you are looking at something truly special. Every angle and every inch of the car is simple magic. Clean, fast, modern yet classic, this is what most of us would want in a car. The “Producer” won Goodguys in 2012, and it is clear why. About the “Producer” from the Ringbrothers: Well-known for their ability to transform Mustangs into modern masterpieces, the Ringbrothers have set the bar even higher with the Bowers ’65 Mustang. The body was widened an incredible four inches and highlighted by the custom BASF orange paint, and both the hood and roof are carbon-fiber—signature Ringbrothers touches. Under the hood is the high-compression Keith Craft-built 427 cubic-inch stroker based on the 351 Windsor small-block making 740-crank horsepower. The matte-finish three-piece wheels designed by the Ringbrothers were built by Forgeline. Baer brakes, AFCO shocks, and a suspension consisting of front-tubular A-arms and a Watts-link setup in the rear give the car razor-sharp handling. The car gets its name from Bowers’ Waynesburg, Pennsylvania-based Producer Supply Company. For more infomation on Supercar Sunday, visit supercarsunday.com n
