Enjoy eight nights of sailing on the Elbe and Vltava rivers in Germany and the Czech Republic, plus one night each in first-class hotels in Berlin and Prague. See Berlin’s famed landmarks, including the Brandenburg Gate, and discover Cecilienhof Palace in Potsdam. In Wittenberg, explore Martin Luther’s legacy. Day 1 | In Transit Depart for Prague, Czech Republic. Day 2 | Prague, Czech Republic Upon arrival, transfer and check in to the Hotel Cosmopolitan Prague. This evening, meet and mingle with your fellow travelers at a Welcome Reception. Day 3 | Prague Discovery: Old Town Prague. On a guided walk, discover the city’s splendid Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance and baroque buildings. See the Old Town Square, the Church of Our Lady before Tyn and Prague’s medieval astronomical clock. Cross the acclaimed Charles Bridge, lined with 30 statues. Free Time: Make your own plans in Prague. Later, embark the intimate MS Elbe Princesse to begin your Elbe River journey. Enrichment: The Velvet Revolution. Before dinner, gather for a Welcome cocktail, then savor a Welcome Dinner prepared with a French flair. Day 4 | Prague

PYJ | Choose one of these excursions: •Prague Castle. See the Castle Square, the Chapel of the Holy Cross, the Picture Gallery and the old Royal Palace. Explore St. Vitus’ Cathedral and stroll Golden Lane, lined with charming, 16th-century homes once occupied by the castle’s staff. •Prague’s Historic Jewish Quarter. Meander the original narrow lanes and see the Old New Synagogue, Europe’s oldest active synagogue.

Then visit the Prague National Jewish Museum, comprised of four synagogues, a ceremonial hall and the Old Jewish Cemetery. Free Time: Explore on your own in Prague. Day 5 | Cruising the Elbe | Litomerice Discovery: Litomerice. Stroll through this pretty city, founded in the 10th century and filled with colorful Gothic, Renaissance and baroque buildings. Relax afterward with a tasting of Czech beer. Day 6 | Saxon Alps, Germany Stand at the ship’s rail and relish the breathtaking views as the ship cruises through the picturesque Saxon Alps, dotted with forested river banks, green meadows and red-roofed houses. Discovery: Saxon Alps. In the Elbe Sandstone mountains, marvel at the unusually shaped, craggy formations created by water erosion millions of years ago. Gaze across this unique landscape from one of Europe’s largest hilltop fortresses, the Königstein. Day 7 | Dresden | Meissen

PYJ | Choose one of these excursions: •Dresden City Tour. See the three stately castles near the Elbe; the “Blue Wonder” steel bridge from 1893; and the chic Koenigstrasse. With a guide, walk to view the baroque zwinger; the Royal Castle; and the Dresden Cathedral. Witness the Church of Our Lady, built in 1743 and ravaged by World War II bombings, now lovingly restored. Later, study the wonderful art collection in the Old Master’s Gallery. •Dresden Old Town Culinary Tour. Tour the old town area while your guide provides fascinating insights about its architecture and history. Along the way, taste delectable Saxon culinary specialties. Return to the ship for lunch and cruise to Meissen.

See the craftsmanship behind the town’s famous white porcelain during a tour of the factory, established in 1710. •Meissen Bike Tour Along the Elbe. Pedal on the Elbe Cycle Route, voted the top favorite by the German Cycling Federation. (Active) Day 8 | Wittenberg

PYJ | Choose one of these excursions: Today, each excursion begins with a guided visit to the town. Stop at the Castle Church to see the church door area where Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses. Continue on to see the City Church, where he regularly preached. •Wittenberg and Martin Luther. Walk through the university where Luther taught and visit Luther House, his former home, now a museum chronicling the Reformation movement. •Wittenberg and Brewery Tour. Head to the Brauhaus brewery for a tour and tasting. (Active) Day 9 | Magdeburg Discovery: Magdeburg. Explore one of Germany’s oldest cities, and visit its first Gothic cathedral.

Enrichment: Contemporary Germany. Day 10 | Berlin

Enrichment: A Tale of Two Cities: East Berlin and West Berlin. Discovery: Berlin City Tour. With a guide, see Berlin’s top sites, including the Brandenburg Gate, Pariser Platz, the Federal Chancellery, the stately Unter den Linden boulevard and more. Drive on Kurfürstendamm, the leafy boulevard lined with exclusive shops, restaurants and cafés. Free Time: Spend the afternoon at leisure. Tonight, celebrate at a Farewell Dinner on board. Day 11 | Berlin After breakfast, disembark the ship. Discovery: Potsdam. Stroll through the lovely, terraced Sanssouci gardens, planned by Frederick the Great in 1743 for his summer retreat, and visit the grand Cecilienhof Palace, the setting for the 1945 Potsdam Conference. This afternoon, check in to the Hilton Berlin. Free Time: See more of Berlin on your own. Gather for a Farewell Reception at the hotel tonight. Day 12 | In Transit After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the return flight to your gateway city.
