Nuestra estrategia se centra en profesionalizar a las asociaciones de pescadores artesanales de la bahĂ­a de Sechura, logrando relaciones comerciales duraderas y generando oportunidades de desarrollo local para la comunidad.

NUESTRA PROPUESTA DE VALOR Acercar a las asociaciones de pescadores artesanales al mercado mundial, con el objetivo de ofrecer conchas de abanico sostenibles, trazables y socialmente responsables. La alianza entre PECTEN y Sechura Bay, forjada en el 2018, ha logrado exportar mĂĄs de 1,200 toneladas de conchas de abanico de alta calidad a los principales mercados del mundo.

OUR VALUE PROPOSITION We engage in bringing the local fishermen associations closer to the world markets in order for them to sell a sustainable, traceable and socially responsible product. The alliance between PECTEN and Sechura Bay was forged in 2018 and has managed to export over 1,200 tons of high-quality scallops to the most demanding markets around the world.


Our strategy focuses on the technical training of local fishermen associations working in the Sechura Bay Area, thus building long-lasting commercial relationships and creating opportunities for the local communities.

Sechura Bay es una iniciativa impulsada por PECTEN, que deriva de su antigua relación con las asociaciones de pescadores artesanales de la Bahía de Sechura-Perú. Su objetivo es agrupar y promover el fortalecimiento de sus capacidades, para obtener un producto uniforme y con los más altos estándares de calidad.

Sechura Bay is an initiative created by PECTEN, which stems from the company’s long-standing ties with local fishermen associations in the Sechura Bay Area, Peru. Its main goal is to group these associations together and promote capacity building in order to produce a standardized product which will meet the highest quality standards available.

INSPECTED by the Regional Bureau of the Ministry of Production. VALIDATED BY SANIPES Sanitary Authority, Bivalve Mollusc Control Program (PCMB, for its initials in Spanish), standardized with the EU bivalve shellfish regulation.

FISHING NET CONTAINERS are labeled individually. The date of harvest and the name of the aquaculture association are recorded.

SANIPES issues a HARVEST STATEMENT RECORD (DER) with a code that is unique to each harvested lot. This code will be used for exact traceability of the product throughout the production and commercial chain


QUALITY AND TRANSPARENCY Much of PECTEN’s differential value lies in the transparency of its production chain and its alliance with Sechura Bay, thus producing local products which meet the world’s highest quality standards.
