VENUS AND ADONIS
Venus and Adonis is a picture painted by Tiziano in 1554 and that is exposed in the Prado Museum of Madrid. The painting illustrates one of the episodes gathered by Ovidio in his famous Metamorphoses.

Venus convinced to Mirra that was committing incest with her father TĂas, and Mirra joined with her father in the darkness, but when TĂas discovered the deception he got angry and chased her daughter.
Mirra fled of her father and Venus transformed her into a tree of myrrh. TĂas threw an arrow to the tree and Adonis was born of it.
