MEAL PLANS Cal Dining meal plans offer the flexibility and freedom that students need to dine with us. Our combination of residential and retail services features well-rounded options whether students are “on the go� or gathering with friends around a dining table.


HOW THE MEAL PLAN WORKS 1.

Half of your total meal plan points are added to your Cal 1 Card at the beginning of each semester.

2. Use your points at all 16 Cal Dining locations. • • •

(4) “all-you-care-to-eat” residence dining commons: Crossroads, Café 3, Foothill, and Clark Kerr (4) residential retail locations: The Den, Bear Market, Cub Market, and CKCub. (8) on-campus retail locations: Golden Bear Café, Pat Brown’s, Ramona’s, Terrace Café, Common Grounds, Qualcomm CyberCafé, The View Café, and The Pro Shop @ RSF. PLUS: GBC Produce Stand 3. No daily minimum or maximum point usage. 4. Rollover up to 100 points from Fall to Spring. 5. Add more points at any time — $50 = 55pts.* 6. Ultimate Access meal plan holders have access to one “all-you-care-to-eat” meal per meal period at any dining commons in addition to their point allotment.

RESIDENT MEAL PLANS for students living in the residence halls Standard Plan | 2500 points per academic year (1250 per semester) • Included in room and board rate • Ideal for light-eaters and students that spend most weekends at home • 10-12 meals per week*

Premium Plan | 3000 points per academic year (1500 per semester) • An additional $350 ($175 per semester) • For students eating most meals on campus • 12-16 meals per week*

Ultimate Access Plan | Unlimited single meal period entry to the residence dining halls + 1000 points per academic year (500 per semester) • An additional $750 ($375 per semester) • 3 meals a day on campus, plus snacks • 19+ meals per week* *On average -- total varies depending on eating habits and lifestyle. The meal plan is designed to account for 6070% of student meals while on campus. The Financial Aid Office suggests that students budget an additional $948 for food not covered by the residence hall meal plan. “All-you-care-to-eat” dining prices are set for each meal, but retail and late-night prices vary depending on purchases.

KOSHER AT CAL? You can enjoy Kosher Shabbat meals (Friday dinner and Saturday lunch) at the Chabad Jewish Student Center. Each semester 250 points from your standard meal plan will be designated toward sponsoring student meals at Chabad. To sign up, please contact dining@berkeley.edu.

GRADUATE STUDENT MEAL PLANS We are pleased to offer a meal plan specifically designed for our graduate student customers. 220 points per academic year for $200. 1-2 meals per week Additional points can be added at any time in $50 increments, $50 = 55 points. *Please note - there are no refunds or cancellations of the graduate student meal plan.

FACULTY & STAFF MEAL PLANS Cal Dining is proud to offer Faculty & Staff meal plans, which can be used in any of our 16 on-campus locations and produce stand; including our Peet’s Coffee & Tea locations: The Den, Pat Brown’s and Qualcomm CyberCafé. Purchase points in $50 increments, $50 = 55 pts (that’s a latte on us!). Your meal points are automatically loaded on your Cal 1 Card [your campus ID card]. SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS we are here to help! Whether you have food allergies, religious dietary restrictions or simply need particular guidance or assistance with your food selections, Cal Dining can provide the resources to help you make delicious choices, safely and easily. We regularly work with customers who have food allergies and specific food restrictions to make sure they get the most from their dining experience. At all Cal Dining locations, there are daily selections for both vegetarian (no meat or fish) and vegan (no animal products of any kind, including meat, eggs and dairy), as well as gluten-free diets. Customers with food allergies or special dietary needs are encouraged to set-up a nutrition counseling session, as soon as they begin dining with us.
