SUPPORT THE CALIFORNIA CENTER FOR THE ARTS, ESCONDIDO
OUR MISSION With a mission of bringing people together to discover, create, and celebrate both the visual and performing arts, the California Center for the Arts, Escondido is the cultural center of North San Diego County. The creation of the Center was sparked by a civic vision—one that recognized how vital arts and arts education are in a community. In June of 1985, the voters of Escondido approved the construction of a $73 million arts center that would cultivate music, dance, theater, education, and the visual arts together in one dynamic setting. Open since October 1994, the Center's unique campus includes a 1,523-seat concert hall, a 404-seat theater, a contemporary art museum, art and dance studios, and a full-service conference center with meeting and banquet facilities. While the Center attracts visitors from all over Southern California, the majority are from north San Diego County communities along the I-15 corridor from north of the I-8 to Fallbrook, and along the Hwy 78 corridor from the West Coast to Ramona. Over the past twenty-one years, the Center has worked hard to build a community and maintain fiscal accountability. In the current strategic plan, the Center aims to diversify its funding streams and create new partnerships in philanthropy, in order to continue to thrive and serve.
TODAY, WE INVITE YOU TO JOIN US.
ART IS A PART OF LIFE IN ESCONDIDO We believe the arts are for everyone. The Center extends its hand to the community through a variety of services, inspiring inner artists to create, encouraging young audiences to listen and learn, and invigorating our vibrant city with a diverse lineup of entertaining shows, free performances, museum exhibitions, and educational classes and workshops. Over the past twenty-one years, we have presented a range of artistic programming in the visual and performing arts, attracting audiences of various ages, cultures, and backgrounds that make up San Diego County and the Southern California Region.
“It’s wonderful to play in a venue that was made for music.” -Jake Shimabukuro
