eyond the lights of the Strip, Las Vegas has even more to offer. In Nevada, there is no state income tax for businesses or individuals. No estate, inheritance, or gift tax. Competitive sales and property tax rates, and minimal payroll tax for employers. Also Asset Protection. Assets in business entities are not subject to personal liabilities. For LLCs, limited partnership, and close corporations, a creditor cannot dissolve the company. Personal assets are not subject to pay business liabilities. Nevada allows self-settled spendthrift trusts, also known as asset-protection trusts. Can be used in conjunction with offshore trusts and can be designed to convert into an offshore trust.
It’s all about LIVING The extraordinary properties are only matched by the undeniable views. Vegas is living elevated.
S
o you’ve never thought about living in Las Vegas. What’s kept you? Never mind - no use wasting any more time trying to explain. The important thing is that you’re ready for the time of your life, and there’s no better place to start than here. AND LIFESTYLES TO MATCH The options are only limited by your imagination. You can live in a mansion in the sky looking at the neon, an estate that reflects off pristine waters, or a home on the green. HOME STYLES BEYOND IMAGINING Whether you are a fan of Feng Shui
or a lover of the Mediterrean style we have the homes that fit the way you live. The important part is to remember that in Vegas you can stand on the Eiffel Tower and look at the New York skyline. Las Vegas has never been limited and neither should you. LIVE LARGE When you make Las Vegas your home, when you embrace it’s uniqueness and you find that Las Vegas is a hard home to beat. The first time you travel and realize that room services close, you will know you are Vegas.
Morgan Brennan of Forbes Magazine names Las Vegas the “Monaco of the West, a tax free haven, a billionaire’s playground.”

LAKE LAS VEGAS Take a break from the heat and go for a relaxing outing on a paddle board on the private Lake Las Vegas.
From zip lines and car racing to the Bellagio’s world-famous fountains and the Mandalay Bay Beach, experiencing all of Las Vegas’ attractions is like riding a roller coaster, which you can do because we have those, too. You could move here and live to the age of 100 and you still wouldn’t run out of things to do in Las Vegas. In addition to the casinos and shows, there are zoos, theaters, aquariums and galleries. And even those are ever changing. And no two Las Vegas attractions are alike. The Mob Museum offers a glimpse into Vegas’ illustrious and notorious past, while the Dolphin Habitat at The Mirage offers a glimpse into the undersea world far away from our desert landscape. And that’s not even the most unexpected attraction in Las Vegas. Live the life of a race-car driver or fighter-jet pilot. Imagine yourself a pro golfer. Or paddle up to the Hoover Dam in a kayak. The attractions in Vegas prove that you don’t know nearly as much as you think you do about what there is to do here. Trust us. You don’t. Even locals are regularly amazed at all the new things to see and do in Las Vegas.

PLACES ofF THE STRIP
Whether its paddleboarding on the lake, plunging out of an airplane, climbing to the top of mountain, or even sailing on Lake Mead, it is all less than an hour’s car ride from the world famous Las Vegas Strip. 05
Start with the SkyJump at the Stratosphere. At 108 stories, it’s the longest controlled free fall of its kind. Soon, you’ll be able to experience Slotzilla - a spectacular high-flyin’ attraction where you get hooked to a harness and zip line right over the crowds on Fremont Street and under the giant video canopy. Not daring enough? How about swimming with the sharks at the Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay. NOW OFF THE STRIP There’s so much to do in Vegas besides gaming. Looking for adventure? We’ve got you covered; whether you like thrills by air, land or sea. VALLEY OF FIRE You’ve seen it as a backdrop in countless films and TV commercials, and for good reason. In fact, Valley of Fire’s spectacular red rock formations have even doubled for Mars in numerous sci-fi flicks. PADDLEBOARDING AT LAKE LAS VEGAS The latest and hotest trend in cooling down in the summer heat. Cruise on the private lake in Lake Las Vegas on your paddleboard and take a break from all that cruising at one of the many boutique shops in the Village.
VALLEY OF FIRE Just over an hour’s car ride from Las Vegas is some of the most stunning scenery in the country.
BLACK CANYON - EMERALD COVE One of the best sites along the Colorado River, kayak or paddleboard to this serene grotto boasting some of the most amazing green displays of color you have ever seen. SKYDIVING For those of you who are adreline junkies and get your kicks out of jumping off buildings or out of airplanes, well we have just the place just for people like you. Vegas also has an indoor skydiving location, for those learning or those who just want the experience of that wet your pants sort of feeling. GRAND CANYON This natural wonder lies about 300 miles from Las Vegas, a 1.5-hour flight. And Vegas can get you there, any which way you choose - with tours of all types.
You could move here and live to the age of 100 and you still wouldn’t run out of things to do in Las Vegas.
RED ROCK CANYON Climbers of all skill levels travel from all over the world to experience the beauty and challenge that is Red Rock climbing. If you prefer a walk, it’s hard to find so beautiful a setting. The forces of nature that have formed such a visual display have taken years to create the masterpiece that is now known as Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. MT. CHARLESTON Skiing and snowboarding in Las Vegas? What? Yes. Mt. Charleston is the highest of the Spring Mountains of southern Nevada and the state’s eighth highest mountain peak. Mount Charleston is a year-round getaway for Las Vegas’ residents and visitors, with a number of hiking trails and a modest ski area. The mountain, which is snow-capped more than half the year, can be seen from parts of the Las Vegas
ELDORADO CANYON / GOLD MINE The past is never far from the present in Eldorado Canyon, which is also home to the Techatticup Mine. The remote area has a colorful history and breathtaking views. The best photo you take will likely be one on the banks of Lake Mojave, the blue jewel of this secluded desert region.
Strip when looking toward the west. Mount Charleston has nearly 200 camp sites and over 150 picnic areas. LAKE MEAD Sure, it is fine place for a beachy beer and BBQ or wakeboard session, but dip below the surface and you’ll find so much more - from aweinspiring roc k s c a p e s to kayaking downriver to hidden coves and sweating it out in deep sauna caves.

CULINARY ROCK STARS
T
hey’re the best in the world at what they do. They’re the rock stars of the culinary world and we’re here, awestruck, holding our lighters in the air and waiting for an encore. Or an entrée. Las Vegas celebrity chef restaurants are around every corner. Seriously, you can’t throw a starched white napkin without hitting one. And they’re full of your fellow culinary curators, including celebrity non-chefs who just want a great bite to eat. They’re places to see and be seen at. And to devour in. You’ll find that Las Vegas celebrity chefs do it a little differently out here, with seasonal, fresh creations, evolving menus and a laid-back atmosphere. Come as you are and order anything you like.
Or order nothing at all. The waiters will happily take you down a culinary rabbit hole that you’ll be trying to recount for years to come. If you want a food adventure, you’ll find several, provided by names like Emeril Lagasse, Michael Mina and Wolfgang Puck to name a few. But why name a few. It’s Vegas and we like things in excess. So start making reservations now, and don’t forget to include Todd English and Bobby Flay. English’s Olives at Bellagio even throws in a spectacular view of the fountain show for a little ambience. And if you’re into famous chefs, Las Vegas offers them at all price points. Because everyone deserves to eat that well. And in Vegas, nothing is out of reach

verybody knows about our showrooms and casinos, but there are nightspots you just can’t find back home. The Las Vegas nightlife truly is unrivaled. Just open a magazine next time you’re at the grocery store. All the celebrities are here. They’re dancing, enjoying the music and celebrating life at the very same clubs and bars as you. That is, if you’re a night owl, party animal or lover of the good life.
STARS COME OUT TO PLAY And when the stars come out, so does everybody else, at PURE at Caesars Palace, Marquee Nightclub at The Cosmopolitan and Gallery at Planet Hollywood Resort, just to name a few. There are plenty of options, but one thing’s for certain: Las Vegas nightclubs have reached legendary status.
11
NIGHTCLUBS So pack your party dress and your dancing shoes because behind the velvet ropes lie the most sought-after nightclubs in Las Vegas and the world. The dance floors are spacious, the beats are pounding and the drinks are delicious. Tryst at Wynn Las Vegas lets you live it up under the night sky and Voodoo Lounge at Rio sets the scene at the top of their tallest tower. Moon Nightclub at the Palms has views of the entire city and Mandalay Bay’s Foundation Room offers intimate spaces for getting to know your fellow revelers better.
N
o other city can compete with the events, concerts and shows in Las Vegas. We’re truly the Entertainment Capital of the World. And no matter what you’re looking for we’ve got just the event. There are Las Vegas shows with dancing, singing, acrobatics and more. There’s comedy or drama. And a healthy amount of spectacle. And the concerts are out of this world all summer, and year, long. Nowhere else are so many talented performers performing night after night. Artists currently in residence include Celine Dion, Motley Crue and deadmau5. But on any given weekend, you’re likely to see the marquees lit up with events from today’s hottest live acts. That’s to say nothing of the permanent fixtures that dot the Strip. There are now seven different Cirque du Soleil shows in Las Vegas, ranging from the interesting to the bizarre to the risqué. And staples like the Blue Man Group, Frank Marino and Jersey Boys round out the offerings. What would Vegas be without magic? And Vegas’ headliners deliver in spades. Acts like Penn & Teller bring a healthy dose of humor to the mix, with other performers sizzling up their acts with stunning magicians’ assistants. If those lovely ladies are more your speed, you’ll want to check out the adults-only shows like Fantasy and Crazy Girls. And don’t miss Jubilee!, the classic Vegas showgirl extravaganza. There truly is an event for every sensibility. Of course, next year there will be new acts, dazzling new performances and a variety of new shows to entertain you then, too. Anyone worth seeing stops in Vegas. Shouldn’t you?

BROADWAY COMES TO VEGAS
The heart of the arts in Las Vegas. Built to showcase the very best in theater, dance, and music from around the world. The stage is set.
13
From its very beginning, The Smith Center was envisioned as a worldclass performing arts center that would develop and present the best and brightest in a broad range of first-rate programming and unite the residents of our community. This cultural complex will enable Southern Nevada to take its place on an international stage, celebrating artistic excellence, education and culture from around the world. The ambition to create one of the nation’s leading performing art centers led The Smith Center’s design team to visit venues across
North America and Europe in 2007, where they studied some of the world’s finest opera houses, concert halls and performance venues. After they toured venues including Palais Garnier in Paris, the Musikverein in Vienna and La Scala in Milan, they came together to design The Smith Center.

rowing up on the East Coast and then moving to California, I have always lived near water. It’s been such a part of my life that it has simply become a prerequisite when considering a place to live. Because of this fact, a home in the desert seemed that it would be just about as likely as the Red Sox winning a world series. Given that miracles do seem to occur, (as the Red Sox demonstrated), I consider myself among the fortunate few to have stumbled across Lake Las Vegas; a magical oasis, right in the middle of the desert. While it somehow seems an unlikely paradox - that is, waterfront property in the middle of a desert - it also somehow strangely seemed normal, almost peaceful. If the entertainment capital of the world,
Las Vegas, can create a symbiotic harmony with the desert then why not a lake? Then throw in an Italian Village, Golf, Desert, and Luxury Homes. Yes, it all made sense, somehow. As if by a quirk of fate, I had stumbled across this diamond in the desert. Some call it coincidence; some serendipity; In Vegas, it’s called Luck. But whatever you call it, there’s no doubt that this unseen phenomenon plays some part, whether small or large, in the goings on in this town, as it did with my own sojourn to become a Nevada Resident at Lake Las Vegas. Nevada to me had always simply been “Las Vegas”. I began a cursory search on the looking for somewhere to stay. It really came down to 2 choices. Stay on the strip, or stay at the Westin Resort
Behind the gates of SouthShore in Lake Las Vegas.
Reflections of your dream home at this place called Lake Las Vegas. Fate chose the Lake. We arrived late, got lost among the roads, and, frankly, in the darkness of night, wondered if we had made a bad choice. When morning came our doubts were quickly cast aside and we realized that we were fortunate to find this paradise in the middle of the desert. Upon first viewing the Lake, I was struck by a sense of peace, awed by its beauty. It took about 18 minutes of looking around the property to determine that this was exactly where our next home should be and also where I would next reside. Yet, there is something magical in Lake Las Vegas, the air of the impossible becoming possible, and the unbelievable becoming reality. - James D.
