Congressman Jodey Arrington to Serve as TCR Grand Parade Marshal
Stamford Healthcare System Scales Back Services
BY TCR PARADE CHAIRMAN CHEYENNE BEREUTER
The theme for the 2019 Texas Cowboy Reunion Grand Parade is “Land of the Free.” It will be held on Wednesday, July 3 at 4 p.m. in downtown Stamford. It is especially fitting that Congressman Jodey Arrington will serve as this year’s Grand Parade Marshal. Since being first elected to serve the 19th District of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives in 2016, Mr. Arrington has been a champion for our veterans and consistent in defending the freedoms we all hold dear. Stamford Healthcare System announced this week that they have made significant cutbacks, including layoffs, to preserve the clinic’s financial position. This will ensure that quality healthcare services continue to be available for the community of Stamford and surrounding areas. The Stamford Hospital District Board of Directors approved a proposal to cut costs that includes: • Utilizing a third party billing company. This company will submit claims to receive payment quickly and conveniently, increasing reimbursements and timely payments, and reduce denials and underpayments. • Sale of Osbornes and Mabee Clinic buildings. These buildings will be sold by a bidding process, see Public Notice in local newspapers for more details. • Close Stamford Health Club. • Reduce the size of our workforce to lower operating expenses. This will result in 14 employee layoffs. When the hospital closed last year, Stamford Healthcare System began the process called a Change of Ownership to operate as a stand-alone Rural Health Clinic (RHC). SEE HOSPITAL, PG 6
