May 4 Election Ballot
Bland Harrison was surprised with a birthday party at Decker Capital Partners on Thursday, April 25 in honor of his 98th Birthday. Mayor James Decker read a proclamation declaring Thursday, April 25 as Bland Harrison Day in Stamford in recognition of his many contributions to the city of Stamford and its citizens. The City of Stamford has three open places on the ballot, Place 1, Place 2, and Place 3. These positions are currently held by Melinda Smith (who is not seeking reelection), Ken Roberson, and Jimmy Doan. The following people have filed for places on the ballot: Place 1-Johnny Anders; Robert Wingrove; Place 2-Ken Roberson (Uncontested) and Place 3-Jimmy Doan (Uncontested). Roberson and Doan will not appear on the ballot since they are unopposed. Stamford School Board will have two open places that are currently occupied by Leigh Nauert (who is not seeking reelection) and Curtis Birdsong. Filing for these at-large places are Curtis Birdsong, Eric Strand, Mindy Flow, Riley Carver, Cynthia Wimberly, and Matthew A. Duran. For the Stamford Hospital District Board 3 places are up for election. They are currently held by Cary Davis (who is not seeking reelection), Kevin McCright, and Sutton Page. On the ballot for these at-large places are Kevin McCright, Heather J. Buzzard, Sutton Page, and Gary Decker.
Bulldogs face DeLeon in Game 1 of the Bi-District contest on Thursday at 5:00 at Hermleigh. Game 2 will be at 5:00 on Friday at DeLeon, and Game 3, if needed, will be at 11:00 am on Saturday at DeLeon.
