Stamford High School Principal Guy London helped coordinate the day’s activities along with the high school’s class officers and sponsors. “The event was a great success,” said Callie Metler-Smith, Chamber board member and Stamford Proud Day chairman. “It would not have been possible without the students, teachers and Mr. London.”

Bulldogs Are Area Champs BY ALLISON BIGBIE Another great victory for our Stamford Bulldogs. Forsan took the loss in the Area Finals on Friday, May 11 with a score of 6-0. Both teams are competitive and play hard in every sport and give it their all which is what landed the two in the Finals. Though Forsan and our Bulldogs have played against one another in not just baseball but basketball also, that doesn’t mean they
don’t have respect for the other team. After the Stamford boys baseball team won the game that Friday, Forsan tweeted, “Hats off to Stamford baseball. If we had to lose at least it was to a solid, well coached, classy team that does things right. Always appreciate an opponent who respects the game and makes you compete at a high level!” The message was retweeted by SHSAthletics. That not only showed that there is still “respect”
in the game but also shows the true love and appreciation that both teams have for the sport. Congratulations to our Stamford Bulldogs being the Area Champs. Keep going, boys. Hard work pays off! 123 456 7 R H E Forsan 000 000 0 0 2 6 Stamford 020 103 X 6 5 1
