Our Story.... The term ‘boutique agency’ describes a real estate company that eschews quantity in favour of quality and a more personal approach. At Callum Swan Realty, this is not just a slogan but the heart of the firm’s philosophy. Founded by husband and wife team Callum and Louise Swan, the company is the culmination of their many years’ of experience in the Marbella real estate market. Louise was the commercial director of a large property company in Marbella, while Callum has always acted as a private consultant specialising in the luxury segment of the market. They enjoyed success in their respective careers, but when founding their own agency, found that it wasn’t volume but quality of product and client service they aspired to. “Real estate, like any sector, is most noble and enjoyable when the process is personal and built around knowhow, service and integrity – accompanied by efficiency and results,” says Callum. Chopard now presents Happy Sport the First: two 1,993 and 788piece limitededition rereleases of the very first watch presented when the collection was launched. They pay faithful homage to this icon, thanks to its legendary diamonds and its “pebblelink” bracelet, while adding major innovations: a new case in Lucent Steel A223 redesigned in a 33 mm diameter inspired by the principles of the golden ratio, as well as the Manufacture Chopard 09.01C movement with automatic winding.

Flashback to 1993, when Caroline Scheufele, Chopard's CoPresident and Artistic Director, captured the spirit of the era by devising a sports watch based on the unprecedented mingling of steel and diamonds. Happy Sport was born of this bold vision. Since then, it has perpetually celebrated Joie de Vivre and a freespirited approach daily reinvented by women to conquer the world in which they wish to live and become the woman they aspire to be. Thanks to dancing diamonds that are “happier when they are free” – as Caroline Scheufele’s mother exclaimed when she discovered the first prototype of this novel concept in 1976 – the Happy Sport watch stages a fascinating and perpetually creative show. One in which women play a starring role, since it is their own movements that breathe life into the dancing diamonds and this constantly recomposed scene. A powerful metaphor of the emancipatory momentum women experienced in the 20th century, the collection vividly reflects this vibrant life force and has lent itself ever since its debut to countless transformations. world’s most radiant smile? In the 1990s, Julia Roberts became one of the most accomplished actresses. Filmmakers and audiences around the world fell under the spell of her contagious laugh. After a series of movies that marked the decade, Julia Roberts was awarded the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2001. Equally acclaimed by critics for her roles in romantic comedies as well as in dramas, this true film legend was welcomed to the Cannes Film Festival in 2016 with a sense of honour and emotion. The first time she strode up the famous steps of the Palais de Festival in Cannes – barefoot and wearing an offtheshoulder black dress highlighting a Chopard Haute Joaillerie emerald and diamond necklace – has become the most memorable red carpet staircase event in recent editions of the Festival thanks to Julia Robert’s naturally graceful demeanour. Since then, she has uniquely personified the ultimate free spirited woman. No wonder that passionate filmlover Caroline Scheufele asked Julia Roberts to embody the face of the Happy Sport woman when launching new versions of this watch that has also become an icon. Said Caroline: “It was her and nobody else! Julia Roberts was the only person I felt could convey the spirit that I see in Happy Sport.” Charmed by the boldness of the Happy Sport creations, Julia Roberts pointed out: “I am honoured to be collaborating with Chopard on the Happy Sport watch, one of the most iconic and desirable models in the industry.” To orchestrate the encounter between Julia Roberts and Happy Sport, Caroline Scheufele entrusted the artistic direction of this new campaign to director Xavier Dolan. Renowned for the intensity with which he conveys his protagonists’ emotions through the camera, Xavier Dolan strove to show through a short film how Julia Roberts instinctively related to the Joie de Vivre inherent in Happy Sport watches. He also served as artistic director for a series of shots taken by photographer Shayne Laverdière. 4

The choice of Julia Roberts and Xavier Dolan also reflects Chopard's deepfelt attachment to the world of cinema. An official partner of the Cannes Film Festival since 1998, the Maison has been actively contributing to film production and the emergence of young talent, as evidenced by its Trophée Chopard, awarded each year to an upand coming actress and actor. The engineering team began by creating a drivetrain that would bring Rolls Royce’s famous ‘Magic Carpet Ride’ offroad. “The drivetrain system we engineered for Cullinan had one key job to do,” explains Caroline Krismer, Engineering Project Leader for Cullinan. “To bring the famed Rolls Royce ‘Magic Carpet Ride’ to all other terrains possible, while ensuring classleading onroad behaviour in the SUV sector.” RollsRoyce’s celebrated Magic Carpet Ride impresses off road as well as onroad thanks to the new lighter architecture, and the latest generation of selflevelling air suspension. Through a thorough reengineering of the existing air suspension system – including adding larger air struts with more air volume to cushion the blows of the toughest of terrains – the strengthening of drive and prop shafts, the inclusion of drive to the front wheels as well as the back for the first time in RollsRoyce history, and the complete reworking of the new 6.75 litre twin
turbo V12 RollsRoyce engine to deliver just the right level of torque (850Nm) at the lowest possible revolutions (1,600rpm), the RollsRoyce engineering team has ensured Cullinan will take owners to places no modern RollsRoyce owner has travelled in luxury before. The suspension makes millions of calculations every second as it continuously varies the electronically controlled shock absorber adjustment system – reacting to body and wheel acceleration, steering inputs and camera information. A new doublewishbone front axle and 5link rear axle deliver astounding levels of control over lateral roll and shear forces and deliver incredible agility and stability, as does the addition of fourwheel steering, all contributing to incredible drivability and nimbleness. In the case of driving offroad, the electronically controlled shock absorber adjustment system uses an air compression system to actively push down any wheel it detects losing traction to ensure every wheel is constantly in contact with the ground and maximum torque is being provided to all wheels.

leni Manousou is the Executive Chef at Nobu Hotel Marbella, the first female Executive Chef within the Nobu brand. Eleni has spent the past 16 years honing her culinary expertise and love for mouthwatering Japanese and Mediterranean dishes at iconic establishments in Europe and the Middle East.

Born in Athens, Greece, Manousou learned how to deal with the pressures of high demand in the kitchen from early on with her first round of training taking place at the Olympic Village during the 2004 Olympic Games. Attaining a veritable wealth of European culinary tradition, Manousou quickly worked her way up through the ranks at such gastronomic institutions as El Bandoneon (Athens), Kapsali Restaurant (Australia) and the Robinson Club Lyttos Beach (Crete). After moving back to Athens in 2009, Manousou started at Matsuhisa Athens Restaurant and then worked as Chef at the Nobu Dubai in Atlantis The Palm Hotel from 2013 to 2017. Upon starting at Nobu Hotel Marbella in 2017, Manousou reflects, “The most important standard of Nobu San is that you cook from the heart. That was the first thing I learned, the second being respect for the ingredients”. Through her insatiable knowledge of the Japanese gastronomic, Manousou fast created a name for herself within the Nobu brand, forging a longlasting bond.

was super creative; I am creative but also classical. And my grandmother because she was the root of my knowledge. I wished she could have seen my career progress but unfortunately, she passed away before I became a chef. All my memories are with her in the kitchen, helping her out.
How did your Nobu venture begin? I’m Greek, so I started working with Matsuhisa Athens. It’s the same company as Nobu, but different partners. Matsuhisa is the personal company of the founder and chef, Nobuyuki Matsuhisa, and Nobu is the company he has with Robert de Niro and other partners all over the world, like here in Puente Romano Beach Resort. I began in Matsuhisa Athens, then I moved to Dubai, and from Dubai I moved here to Spain. During those ten years I did a lot of promotions for the company, in Morocco, Turkey, Paris, Slovakia… all around the world. How did you end up in Nobu? By luck! (laughs) I was supposed to start working with another company, but a friend suggested a trial with Matsuhisa. A few days later I was offered to work in Nobu on a starter/bottom position. This was in 2010. From my previous culinary work with a German chain I was intrigued by the Asian cuisine, when I was offered Nobu I was delighted, even though I didn’t even know what soya was! As soon as I began at Nobu I started researching the cuisine and did all my homework to learn everything I could. When did you first realize that you wanted to become a chef? Cooking was my hobby; I didn’t consider it professionally when I was younger. I was trying to enter the army. I also used to be an athlete, but I had problems with back injuries that forced my retirement and so I started to think about entering the navy. The idea of following strict standards always appealed to me. I did the exams, and during this period, my mother asked me what I wanted to do, so I decided to take up my hobby and become a chef. We have a lot of cooks in our family, so it was relatively easy for me. My mother was quite surprised with my rapid ascent and success. The kitchen and the army, with the obvious differences, also have a lot in common. In both we go to war… different kind of wars (laughs). Who was the most important culinary influence in your life before chef Nobu? My grandmother and my mother were the two best chefs I have met in my life. I will never eat something that is at the creative level of my mother’s cooking. She

Tell us a little about your experience in Marbella working in Nobu Hotel... Marbella is a little paradise for me. The freshness of the sea produce and its availability in southern Spain is something you can’t just find in any country (only around the Mediterranean), so I’m very grateful for that. The quality is amazing here. You can’t create something from nothing, cook a Sashimi or a fish with a dash of salt and olive oil and it doesn’t need anything else. In Dubai, it’s all imported from abroad, so Spain is fresh produce heaven for me. Tell us something people don’t know about sushi… What I have learnt over the last few years is that Sushi doesn’t need the amount of soy and wasabi you may think. It only needs a touch of both, and then you brush the soy on the fish, not on the rice, and the wasabi should be in the fish, like we do with nigiri, not in the rice. Once the Nigiri is lightly brushed with the soy on the side of the sashimi, you eat it with the fish on the side of the tongue. So, you eat nigiri upside down in a sense. www.noburestaurants.com
