This comes at a price…so there is often this kind of judgement about the look, the value, the quality.

In other words; is it worth it!

It is all relative after all.

You can get a good and cheap meal from a take-away or at your local gastro-pub. Nothing wrong with this! There are even special offer nights: 2 for 1 or a free bottle of wine when ordering before a certain time…etc So, if you are going to a “real” restaurant with table service from start to finish with silver service and very fine food, your bill will be higher, of course!

But people will always compare prices. Everything is comparable as long as it is at the same level.

Nothing is free anymore…well almost. People like to get samples when there is a food fair or anything like a promotional offer. To be honest, it is always pleasant to get that extra free gift when taking the delivery of an online order. It could be something like a riding cap when purchasing a helmet or a moisturiser with the soap or shampoo you have picked.

Customer service is important from start to finish. For instance, too many times a meal can be ruined because the waiter/waitress will complete a great job until…it is time for coffee/tea to close the great experience. The bill comes on the table without even asking whether the guests were willing to have a digestif/liqueur such as a Cognac or Armagnac. Even if the answer is a straight “No, thanks” the question has to be asked, as a mark of respect and just good manner too.

In another industry, getting good healthcare is rather important as well. Affordable private medical cover can be seen as luxury for some, because there is a substantial cost but all this for a good reason. There is or should be an explanation to such things. In general, the service is far better and this is a rather valuable point for the customer. It is obvious, that not everyone can spend money without counting – especially nowadays – but some families will spend for superficial items such as tablets, game consoles or flat/wide screen televisions. It is about getting the right priority in the first place.

Consequently, when saying a restaurant dinner/supper or a private medical service are too expensive, the entire situation has to be firstly analysed before any criticism. Quality is and will never be at low cost – this is what makes it prestigious…and who would like an expensive and careless service when going for a well deserved holiday or just during a romantic Valentine’s Day night out?!
