• Faith Mimnaugh has led the Mustangs to either the NCAA Tournament (in 2013) or the WNIT (2011, 2012 and 2014) four times since 2011. She has guided Cal Poly to winning overall records in seven of the past eight seasons, including an 87-43 mark in Big West Conference play since 2008-09. • Mimnaugh’s teams have led the Big West in both scoring and field-goal percentage in four of the past eight years, and they’ve ranked No. 1 in the conference in 3-point accuracy on all but three occasions since 2008-09. • Most recently in 2016, the Mustangs were three points away from advancing to the Big West Tournament semifinals, and junior forward Hannah Gilbert, senior guard Beth Balbierz and sophomore guard Dynn Leaupepe earned all-conference accolades. • In 2015, Coach Mimnaugh led Cal Poly to its seventh consecutive year finishing in at least the Top 3 of the Big West standings. The season also saw seniors Kristen Ale, Ariana Elegado and Taryn Garza graduate with a combined 2,500-

WOMENS BASKET Associate Head Coach | 6th Season | Cal Poly, 2003 / Long Beach St., 2006 •• Since returning to her alma mater before the start of the 2011-12 season, Cal Poly has gone 53-29 in conference play, reached an NCAA Tournament along with two WNITs, and won a Big West Tournament championship plus a regular-season conference title. •• As a Mustang guard from 1999 to 2003, went from walk-on freshman to the team’s leader in minutes played as a junior and senior. In the latter year, was a team captain and was awarded the conference’s Best Hustle award.

TBALL COACHES & STAFF Director of Operations | 2nd Season | Iona, 2007 •• Founded Bayley FIT, LLC in 2007 after a career as a two-time NCAA First Team All-American 800-meter runner for the Iona track team. In Massachusetts, the company partnered with Khalsa Chiropractic to build functional training regimens centered on prehab and rehab suited for a wide variety of injuries. •• Was a volunteer assistant coach for Harvard’s cross country and track teams from 2011-14; mentored Crimson student-athletes on the way to five school records in the middle-distance events and helped the squads race to three Ivy League championships.

In the summer of 2014, MAC underwent a $750,000 renovation including a repainted court design and two new 22-by-17-foot video scoreboards. In addition to a hardwood refinishing, two new LED courtside rows were also implemented. Since 2008, Cal Poly has enjoyed a .721 winning percentage at home entering the start of the 2016-17 season.

In continued commitment to Cal Poly’s student-athletes and basketball program, the Mustang weight room – a.k.a. The School of Strength – received a $150,000 renovation during the 2013 offseason. Under the direction of strength and conditioning coach Chris Holder, Cal Poly’s state-of-the-art facility features upgraded lifting equipment, free weights, platforms, lighting, a sound system and Mustang branding throughout the facility.
RECREATION center One of Cal Poly’s social cores, the Recreation Center opened in 2011 and covers more than 165,000 square feet. The center’s three distinct exercise areas contain state-of-the-art weight and cardio equipment, two gyms,three fitness studios for group classes and an indoor track. The outside of the Rec Center features two separate pools, three sand volleyball courts and two different rock-climbing walls.

schools to feature a football program, Cal Poly’s football team is nationally ranked on a yearly basis and a regular challenger for the Big Sky Conference championship.
Cal Poly’s Blue-Green rivalry with UC Santa Barbara is the best attended series in the history of college soccer. Nearly a quarter of a million fans have attended the series since 2007 and the last 10 matches between the two sides are the 10 highest attended collegiate soccer matches in the United States over the last five years – outdrawing even the national championship. With the year-round temperate
climate on the Central Coast, the Cal Poly wrestling program holds multiple outdoor matches each season.
CAL POLY athletics ALUMNI Ariana Elegado
Former Cal Poly guard Ariana Elegado helped the NetScouts USA All-Stars to a 9-0 record at the Four Nations Tournament of China in April 2016. The Americans swept New Zealand, Poland and China to complete the unbeaten run through the round-robin event, which featured crowds in the thousands in Foshan, Zunyi and Weng’an. Elegado finished her Cal Poly career in 2015 owning six school records whether on a single-game (13 assists and a 12-for-12 performance at the free-throw line), singleseason (an .828 free-throw percentage, 144 assists and 86 made 3-pointers) or career (243 made 3s) basis. She was one of 30 Senior CLASS Award candidates across the country, finishing as Cal Poly’s third-leading alltime scorer (1,502) and second-leading all-time assists distributor (466).
Sharon Day-Monroe Sharon Day-Monroe made her first Olympics team in 2008 for the high jump (placing 24th in Beijing) before becoming USATF’s winningest multi-event woman ever. After a 15th-place heptathlon score of 6,232 points at the London Games, she went on to tally a career-best 6,550 in 2013. At Cal Poly, Day won the 2005 national championship for the high jump (clearing 6’ 4” — three-quarters away from her eventual lifetime best). In all as a Mustang, she was a seven-time All-American and sixtime conference champion.
Stephanie Brown Trafton
Stephanie Brown Trafton averaged 5.5 rebounds as a true Mustang freshman in 1998-99 before a knee injury cut her basketball career short. Also a track & field star, however, she went on to win the Olympic gold medal in the discus in Beijing in the summer of 2008. In doing so, she became the first American woman to win the gold in the event since the 1932 Games. On May 4, 2012, she also set an all-time American record with a throw of 222 feet, 3 inches.
