Stephanie Brown Trafton averaged 5.5 rebounds as a true freshman in 1998-99 before a knee injury cut the 6-foot-4 center’s career short prematurely in her sophomore season. Also a track and field star, however, she went on to win the Olympic gold medal in the discus competition in Beijing in the summer of 2008. In doing so, the former Mustang became the first American woman to win the gold in the event since the 1932 Games. On May 4, 2012, she also set an all-time American record with a throw of 222 feet, 3 inches.

Mimnaugh has coached Cal Poly to a 108-70 record in conference play since 2009 — No. 2 in the Big West in that span — including a 2018 season which saw the Mustangs finish second in the Big West standings.

Above & top-right: After a stint with Hapoel Rishon LeZion in Israel, Kristina Santiago rejoined Dunav 8806 in December of 2013. The former All-America honorable mention (standing fourth in from the left) then signed with Helios in Vétroz, Switzerland, before being acquired by BC Alte Kanti Aarau of the Swiss Ligue Nationale. She averaged 22.4 points (on 55.6-percent shooting) and 9.3 rebounds for Aarau in 2016-17. Lower-right: Rachel Clancy (6), a former third-team Academic All-American, played for Real Canoe Natación in Madrid during the fall of 2011. The Big West Conference Player of the Year in 2010-11, Clancy shot 43.1 percent from 3-point range during her career. 41 • GoPoly.com

Former Mustang Molly Schlemer, who followed Santiago and Clancy as a Big West Player of the Year, signed with the ChemCats Chemnitz of Germany in October 2014. The move came after an offseason that included an invitation to the ProHoops Combine in Nashville, Tenn., as well as a ninegame stint on the NetScouts USA All-Stars Tour of China (at right). In September 2015, following her All-EuroBasket rookie season, Schlemer was picked up by Urla Belediyesi Gencli in Turkey, where she was the TKBL’s third-leading scorer on the way to all-league second-team honors. Combined for her career, Schlemer was awarded EuroBasket Player of the Week awards on five separate occasions between the German DBBL & Turkish TKBL, including most recently for Feb. 14, 2019 with İstanbulgücü.
