In all, Aimee Gassett (pictured above and to the left) holds five different school records for blocked shots. She possesses the all-time Mustang records for career average (rejecting 2.0 per game), single-season total blocks (56) and average for a year (2.1 per game), both in 1989-90, single-game blocks (nine, during a 57-55 win over Cal State East Bay on Nov. 16, 1990) and all-time per-game average (2.0). Kristina Santiago (shown at left) — whose 10 career Big West Player of the Week accolades rank tied for No. 4 in the history of the conference — had a career-high five blocks at Pacific on March 3, 2012, helping Cal Poly earn an 88-66 league victory in Stockton.

Stephanie Brown Trafton averaged 5.5 rebounds as a true freshman in 1998-99 before a knee injury cut the 6-foot-4 center’s career short prematurely in her sophomore season. Also a track and field star, however, she went on to win the Olympic gold medal in the discus competition in Beijing in the summer of 2008. In doing so, the former Mustang became the first American woman to win the gold in the event since the 1932 Games. On May 4, 2012, she also set an all-time American record with a throw of 222 feet, 3 inches.

Former Mustang Molly Schlemer, who followed Santiago and Clancy as a Big West Player of the Year, signed with the ChemCats Chemnitz of Germany in October 2014. The move came after an offseason that included an invitation to the ProHoops Combine in Nashville, Tenn., as well as a ninegame stint on the NetScouts USA All-Stars Tour of China (at right). In September 2015, following her All-EuroBasket rookie season, Schlemer was picked up by Urla Belediyesi Gencli in Turkey, where she was the TKBL’s third-leading scorer on the way to all-league second-team honors. Combined for her career, Schlemer was awarded EuroBasket Player of the Week awards on six separate occasions between the German DBBL, Turkish TKBL & Greece A1, including most recently for Nov. 25, 2019 with AO Eleutheria Moshatou.
