* Record later vacated due to a self-reported NCAA violation. NOTE RE: OVERTIMES: Through 1996, in the regular season, there were two 15-minute supplements that were fully played out. However, in the postseason, if the game was not followed the next day by another game, the two 15-minute supplements were followed by — if necessary — two ensuing 15-min. golden goal periods, followed by penalties. In the event that there was a game the next day, the only difference is the pair of sudden-victory periods was skipped, and it went to a penalty kick session immediately after the first extra 30 mins. From 1997-2001, for regular-season matches, there were two 15-min. golden goal periods, but the postseason format remained the same as it had been in previous years. Then in 2002, the current format was implemented: two 10-min. golden goal periods, followed by penalties in the postseason only.

Nov. 3, 2000 — vs. UC Santa Barbara — 3,016
Cal Poly’s single-game home attendance record is 3,016 — at the 1-0 overtime regular-season finale win over UC Santa Barbara on Nov. 3, 2000. The Mustangs had outshot the Gauchos 11-8 (and earned six corners to UCSB’s three) before the 94th minute, when Sandy Oceguera found Megan Schlegel (pictured below), who dribbled up the left side and fired inside the far post. Mustang head coach Alex Crozier deemed it “the most exciting way to win a game.” Cal Poly’s Natalia Garcia (shown at right) made four saves in the shutout. “It was definitely my most emotional goal ever,” Schlegel told the Mustang Daily of her ninth of 10 goals that season. “One of the biggest factors was the crowd,” Cal Poly midfielder Katie Kassis commented. “When we stepped on the field in overtime, we felt like we had to win just to hear the crowd go nuts.” Mustang Daily File Photos by Daniel Gonzales
