• During 2010-11 season, directed Cal Poly to program records for highest showing in the Big West standings (second), highest seeding for the conference tournament (second) and total Big West victories (10). • Helped Cal Poly finish as one of the top defensive teams in Division I last year. Out of 335 programs, Cal Poly finished third in opponent three-point percentage (28.7), sixth in opponent scoring average (58.9 points per game) and 25th in opponent field goal defense (40.0 percent). • During first season at Cal Poly (2009-10), directed the Mustangs to a sixth-place finish in the Big West standings after the program was selected to finish last. Also guided program to its first victory at the Big West Tournament in three seasons. • Produced six all-conference selections in just two seasons, including All-Big West first team members Lorenzo Keeler (2009-10) and Shawn Lewis (2010-11) and 2011 Big West Freshman Player of the Year Maliik Love. • Led Seattle (2001-09) prior to arriving at Cal Poly, helping the Redhawks successfully transition to the Division I level. Won 75 games during final four years and, during the 2006-07 season, helped Redhawks to the Great Northwest Athletic Conference title and the program’s first NCAA Tournament appearance in 38 seasons.

Responsible for helping to strengthen the program’s rebounding efforts and post play, in addition to opponent scouting and game-day preparation. • As an assistant coach at Texas State (2006-09), helped recruit seven players ranked among the top-40 Texas high school prospects. • Played collegiality for Concordia (Wisc.) University. In 2000, earned All-Lakeshore Conference first team praise and helped program to its first appearance in the NCAA Division III Tournament.

• Serves as Cal Poly’s lead scout in charge of game preparation and defense. • Last season, helped Cal Poly’s defense finish third nationally in opponent three-point percentage (28.7), sixth in opponent scoring average (58.9 points per game) and 25th in opponent field goal defense (40.0 percent). • Served under Joe Callero at Seattle (2005-09). During final 2008-09 season, helped the program to its highest winning percentage in 45 years.

Arrived on the central coast after serving a 10-year term as dean of the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources and professor of animal science at Michigan State. • While leading Michigan State’s College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, increased overall grant activity 146 percent and annual development funds by more than 250 percent. More than $200 million was raised during his time in East Lansing.

142 TEAMS WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE TENTH ANNUAL A record total of 142 teams – representing 16 collegiate athletic conferences – will compete in the three-day event (February 17-19), with the entire SEARS BracketBusters slate of matchups to be announced in late January. Of the 71 games, a minimum of 13 will be televised, with six contests on ESPN2 which are simulcast on ESPN3. An additional five games will be aired on ESPNU and two exclusive games on ESPN3.
