Sgt. Robert Kwiatkowski, Cal U’s canine officer, introduces police dog Bas to Jaime Sprenger, 11, of Coal Center, and Ava Barbao, 6, of Donora. The children were attending the sixth annual Kidz Fair, held July 9 at Center in the Woods. Kwiatkowski and Bas patrol the Cal U campus and make community visits as part of the California University Police Department’s community policing approach.

Cal U Night at PNC Sept. 12 Cal U will join baseball fans at PNC Park Sept. 12 when the Pittsburgh Pirates host the Chicago Cubs at 7:05 p.m. Fans from Cal U can ride to the game in a Vulcan Flyer bus, which will depart at 3:30 p.m. from the Manderino Library’s front entrance. The bus will return fans to campus after the game. Any current Cal U student with a valid CalCard can make the roundtrip ride on the Vulcan Flyer and receive a grandstand-level ticket for just $5. Students must register in advance by contacting Melissa Dunn. Faculty, staff, alumni and University friends can purchase game tickets in advance through the Department of University Development and Alumni Relations. Ticket price for terrace seats is $35; grandstand-level seats cost $19. The roundtrip ride on the Vulcan Flyer bus is $11.

Bicycle Registration at Cal U Police Dept. Cal U has developed a program where bicycles can now be registered with campus police. This will help the California University Police Department identify the bicycle’s owner should it be necessary for the police to get in contact with the owner. Visit the Police Dept., located in the Pollock Building, to register your bicycle.
