Are you game? When it comes to athletics, character-building is all a part of the game. Cal U plays to win, with 16 NCAA Division II varsity teams, plus intramural and club sports, including a champion men's hockey team. But you don’t have to be an athlete to enjoy outstanding fitness facilities. Herron Hall, home of the Recreation and Fitness Center, was recently renovated and features a 33-foot rock climbing obelisk, an elevated indoor running track, racketball courts, basketball courts, a four-lane lap pool, an updated weight room, and new cardio and fitness equipment.

Welcome home ... Cal U’s student housing isn’t the typical cinderblock dorm room you may expect to see. Our residence halls and apartments were built based upon feedback from students, from furniture to floor plans. There’s plenty of room to hang out with friends or just catch some quiet time to study or relax. Take residence Combined, 2,264 students are accommodated in our main and south campus housing facilities. We offer six smoke-free, coed residence halls on the main campus. On the south campus, a beautiful gardenstyle apartment complex houses approximately 770 students, mostly upperclassmen. All units feature air conditioning, carpeting, free local telephone service, cable TV hookups and high-speed Internet connection. Most students share a bathroom with only one other person, and never more than three others.
Each residence hall is equipped CAL U’s FALL ’10-’11 with a computer lab, a community ENROLLMENT room, a TV area with a big-screen TV, a kitchen and a vending area. There are also a lounge and study 7,419 undergraduate rooms on every floor, along with students and 1,981 graduate students recycling areas and a laundry room. Honors Program students also have the option of living in Honors Hall. Cal U’s residence halls are truly a home away from home.

College life It isn’t all about going to class and studying hard. Fun is always part of the curriculum at Cal U. Check out the music scene at our Underground Café. Meet up with friends and catch a free (seriously, it’s free!) movie at the Natali Student Center. If you’re the outdoorsy type, take to the nearby hills for hiking, biking, white-water rafting, kayaking or skiing. Make sure you’re on campus for all the concerts — and don’t miss Homecoming. It’s the biggest weekend of the fall, with a huge parade, activities and a great football game.
