C A L U S A R I have been founded in 2009 by Alex Mitrutz and is based in Basel, Switzerland and Oradea, Romania. As a graduate of physics at University of Bucharest and University of Uppsala, Alex Mitrutz entered in 2003 the world of art market leaving his researcher position at Institute for Space Sciences, Bucharest. Since then, Alex Mitrutz worked as private dealer, consultant and has specialised in helping individual and corporate collectors to built up collections. Calusari Auctions is specializing in contemporary art, works on paper, photography and the Calusari Gallery includes sculptures, ceramics, rugs, jewelries, as well as a collection of tribal art and chinese works of art.
