LIFE {TOGETHER}

experiencing community at calvary

LIFE {TOGETHER} To be the church it is essential to be in a community - to experience life together. Community is breaking down the big to the small. It's walking through the good stuff and the bad stuff together, with your people. It's getting together often to pray, to study the Bible, to take care of each other. Life is crazy and awesome and it's often less than perfect. But when we show up, when we agree that we is better than I, we can walk through it all, hand in hand and find God showing up, everywhere we look.

Looking to get engaged in a community that consists of folks from all ages and stages of life? Look no further...

Community Groups

Community groups, typically consisting of 10-14 people, meet regularly in group members’ homes or at the church. They are designed to encourage and equip people from all walks of life to live authentically in the company of others. The group members gather together regularly to study the Bible, pray, care for one another and commit to doing Life {Together}. There is more than one way to join a Community Group: • Community Group Launches: Three times a year (September 29, January 26 and May 4 for 2013-2014), we launch several new Community Groups. To participate, sign up at MyCalvaryGR.org. • Contact the Office: If you would like to join a Community Group, please contact us at community@calvarygr.org or 956-9377, ext. 5650, and we will work with you to find a group. • Connection Point: Visit the Connection Point after one of the Sunday morning services to talk to someone about joining one of our Community Groups.

Monday Night Bible Study

Mondays (September - April) | 7:00pm | Chapel Monday Night Bible Study is a place where men and women of all ages meet together every Monday evening throughout the school year to study God’s word, for prayer and for fellowship. The evening begins at 7:00pm with men and women each meeting in small groups for about an hour, then for the last half hour, we all meet together in the Chapel for teaching until about 8:35.

Why should I join a Community Group? Community is a place where you belong; a place where you develop relationships with other believers and do life together. We believe that authentic Christian community is the ideal place for sustained growth to occur.

What kind of a commitment would this be? Most groups meet every other week for 1 ½ -2 hours. Each group decides the elements of group meetings, but they should include a time for prayer and fellowship as well as learning from God’s Word. We ask for a commitment to meet together at least eight times. When you attend a launch event, you will be placed with a group that best meets your needs.

How can I become a group leader? To lead a group, you need to have a heart for people, be willing to serve, have a teachable spirit and be a seasoned believer. We ask that you be (or are willing to become) a member of Calvary Church. You do not need to have all the answers, do all the talking or do everything perfectly. For more details, contact us in Calvary Community (956-9377). We would love to meet with you.
