hile learning about medieval Norse culture, the kids were presented to a variety of worlds the Vikings believed to exist, all tied to the massive World Tree. Based on the variety of environments and inhabitants these mythological places contain, the group attempted to complete the tree by writing the names of all those places and characters on the board. They had to work together collaboratively and trade word cards with each other in order to find the names of all the characters and places. With challenging activities, our students are putting all their efforts in speaking English while learning and playing!

nding the "Body Parts" theme, the morning Kinder groups performed a series of activities connected to the story "The Gingerbread Man". We explored together: the book, the story, the characters and played with the rhyme "Run, run, run, as fast as you can! No one can catch me, I'm the Gingerbread Man!". To recap the body parts studied, we designed our full-size Gingerbread Man, skirting our body and observing the parts designed; and yet, each of them created their own articulated doll, coloring and joining the body parts of the Gingerbread Man. Como finalização do tema “Partes do corpo”, os grupos de Kinder da manhã realizaram uma série de atividades a partir da história “The Gingerbread Man”. Exploramos juntos: o livro, a história, personagens e brincamos com a rima “Run, run, run, as fast as you can! No one can catch me, I’m the Gingerbread Man!”.

ollowing through the "CAMB in Nature" Project, Junior 1, 2 & 3 Morning Group students made a memory game with leaves collected in Reserva. They have done all stages of the process in English, from the collection, drying, gluing, plastification to the nomenclature of the leaves. When playing the game, they must talk about the characteristics of each leaf, such as heartshaped, dark green, compound, colored, etc. And who does not like Bingo? Through this fun game, Junior 2 & 3 Afternoon Group students could learn new words related to the "CAMB in Nature" Project. Stump, roots, mushrooms, clover, grass, woodlouse were in the list of words used. In addition, during the game, they were able to interact, cheer, celebrate or whine, in English. All this playfulness is a valuable resource that can be used to teach content or simply teach you how to play games in another language. This project inspires and promotes activities related to nature, using the green outdoor spaces of the school, creating a relation of respect and connection between the children and the environment.

e started the classes at Kids 1 & 2 groups, revising vocabulary about animals playing a game called “Mr. Crocodile”. At this game students pretend to be an animal and they have to cross a “river” without being caught by the “Crocodile”. Afterwards, students registered this funny game drawing the animals and the rhyme. But it wasn´t just that! We did more! We recorded their voices while they were “crossing the river” and we made an e-book that you can access by clicking on the link below.

hat if we could learn and revise parts of the body with our own bodies, instead of pictures? The Jr & Jr 1 afternoon group students had a race to name the parts of Rafael’s body, the helper of the day. After singing and dancing “Hockey Pockey”, remembering movements and some parts of our bodies, students took part in a funny competition! Organized in two groups, the students had to run to a place where they could find labels naming the parts of the body. So, they would get one label at a time and stick it on Rafael’s body, in the correct place. Afterwards, the student would go back to his line and the next would do the same. At the end of the game, which involved reading, speaking and use of language, we could see that each student contribution helped the whole teams to name the complete body, creating a picture dictionary in real life size!
