Once the pizzas have been cooked and enjoyed, there will be time to explore the rich wetlands at Coolart, a Parks Victoria venue next to the camp. Raft building: Using a range of equipment students will try and build and then sail their own raft.

Camp Rules Camp will be a challenging experience for all students. We want it to be fun and safe, as well as providing students with valuable lessons about co-operation, teamwork and their own strengths and resilience. There are a few key rules to ensuring that camp is safe and enjoyable for all: • aerosol cans, alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, electronic equipment, matches and pocket knives are not permitted on camp • no student is to leave the camp site or activity site without a leader’s permission • no student, by his actions, is to place any other student or group of students in danger • Instructions from all CGS and Lord Somers staff are to be followed.

Mess Hut Duty: Before each meal the team rostered will set all tables (20) as required for that meal. As in the kitchen which courses will be served and which cutlery will be needed. During the meal this team will remove dirty crockery and cutlery to the washing-up area. Each of the student tables should be assigned one boy who should set and clear the table. At the conclusion of the meal, continue to remove the dirty crockery and cutlery from the tables, wash down each table, sweep the hall including doorways and steps and leave the hall ready for the next activity. Washing-up Duty: During and at the conclusion of the meal this group will wash all plates, cups and cutlery used in the Mess Hall. It is a good idea if the team captain or someone else in the group prepared the dishwasher before the meal, and clearing and stacking is done as each course is completed. When wash-up is completed the area must be left clean, sinks and washing machine rinsed out with water and tea towels hung out to dry. Plates and cutlery must be returned to their correct places ready go the next meal.
