IMPROVISATION: THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX

ACTING: THE MASTER CLASS

Mary Valentine King | Actor and Director Through lecture, mock audition, scene study, and monologues, this workshop concentrates on growth and development, tailored to your specific gifts and performance needs. Intended for those who have had some acting experience, it will offer a specialized format focusing on confronting stage fright, vocal projection, body language, and the use of effective gestures, to help you build a robust acting persona. Critical feedback and suggestions will enable you to engage, influence, and impact your future audiences.

STAND UP COMEDY WRITING AND PERFORMANCE

Joshua Filipowski | Comedy Instructor Have you ever thought about trying stand-up comedy? Or do you want to take your stand-up and comedy writing to the next level? This workshop will help you find your inner comedic voice, whittle down to find the funny, or punch up what already is. Students will also be given several opportunities outside of class to perform.

EXPLORING VOICEOVERS WORKSHOP

Nancy Halpin | Voice Talent & V.O. Producer Have you been told you have a great speaking voice? Have you wondered how to monetize it working in voice-over, but don’t know how to begin? Join us to learn essential strategies for pursuing the craft of voice-over. You’ll get candid, insider tips on working as a VO actor. We’ll discuss VO acting techniques, making great VO demos, home studios with marketing strategies. You’ll have an opportunity to perform a commercial and get professional feedback in a nurturing, fun, no-pressure environment. You’ll leave the workshop with an action-oriented game plan!

DANCE FOR A ROMANTIC OCCASION

Jim Spellman | Dancer This class will prepare you and your partner to dance with ease and grace. You will experience the joy of leading and following. Simple patterns of movement will be taught. We will introduce basic elements of waltz; foxtrot, bolero, and romantic two-step that can help you pick your style and song. If you have a favorite song, feel free to bring it to complement the instructor’s playlist. LGBTQ couples welcome.
