How do I participate?
These programmes provide an unparalleled insight into what it’s like to study a subject at leading universities. The Immerse Education Global Scholars initiative offers schools the control over rewarding students who teachers consider would benefit most from reduced fee access to the programme.
While completing the form, please provide a short statement indicating how your school’s ethos is aligned with students attending the Immerse
A total of 20 schools from across the world will be selected to participate in this initiative. If you would like your school to be considered, please complete the short form at: https://www.immerse.education/ global-scholars

PERSONAL PROJECT
With a maximum of 12 participants, our small class sizes facilitate interactive learning, collaboration and debate as participants approach academically challenging content.
With the support of expert academic tutors, all participants aged 16-18 complete an academic project during their time with Immerse. Whether an essay, presentation or practical project, participants receive ongoing support before presenting their ideas to their peers at the end of the programme.

Our tutors are passionate about the academic development of their students and therefore provide individualised written feedback and reflections after the programme. This provides insight into a participant’s strengths, areas for further exploration, and recommended reading to further their academic curiosity.

Academic sessions at Immerse Education are collaborative, thought-provoking and dynamic. Participants explore theory within practical contexts and discuss the ideas behind the theory whilst debates challenge each participant to embrace new perspectives.

Personal project The Immerse Personal Project allows each participant to develop their individual research, writing and presentation skills. These are transferable skills which are vital for success in higher education, and students often relish the opportunity to explore a topic of their interest.
Personal Projects could take the form of an essay, presentation or interactive project which focuses upon a particular aspect of the participant’s chosen programme. Tutors ensure that they provide individualised guidance on each project throughout the programme. The project is assessed by the

tutor on the penultimate day of the programme, and some participants use the opportunity to advance their project for the International Baccalaureate.

Participants experience university level academia in small class sizes with a maximum of 12 students per class. This offers participants plenty of close support from their tutor who in turn can deliver tailored materials that nurtures passion but also delivers ample intellectual challenge.

Punting on a summer’s afternoon down the River Cam - a quintessentially Cambridge affair. Krashball - participants pass a lighthearted afternoon full of laughter by playing Zorb football! Formal dining in Cambridge’s famous medieval banquet halls - a chance for participants to experience the splendour and traditions of their college residences.
College Tours - our summer team provide behind-the-scenes tours of a range of university colleges to help participants gain a more complete sense of this magnificent university city. Guided Tours - whether drifting down the River Cam or gazing up at the incredible vaulted ceiling of King’s College Chapel, our guided tours enrich the experience with fascinating details and context. Croquet - participants are encouraged to embrace their competitive side as they learn the intricacies of a croquet game.

Pastoral Care MENTORS (SUBJECT FOCUS) The participants are nurtured and cared for by our experienced mentors and college managers who are current undergraduates or postgraduates studying at the University of Cambridge and Oxford. The Immerse mentors are there to ensure that participants are able to get the most out of the programme, and provide participants with additional support in their chosen subject so that they leave Immerse feeling confident about their academic future. The wellbeing of participants is at the forefront of everything we do. Our mentors receive extensive training and are on hand to offer support and friendship to all participants. They truly understand the challenges and pressures that participants face and are happy to share their own advice and experience.
Our resident summer team, together with college personnel supervise the site 24/7. The colleges, and the city itself are very safe environments and all members of staff undergo extensive security and safety checks, including UK Government Enhanced DBS checks.
