Thank you to everyone continuing to follow the ‘hands, face, space, fresh air and testing’ advice in Camden. From business owners championing the importance of testing to residents continuing to wear a face covering, your efforts are keeping our community safe, so let’s keep it up.

The last few weeks have continued to bring new challenges for Camden’s communities, and like councils around London we are working with residents affected by the recent flash flooding. I want all Camden residents to know we are here for them, particularly in difficult times. That includes working to make sure everyone is able to get vaccinated. People have to told us that being able to get vaccinated close to home, speaking to someone before getting the vaccine who can answer questions, and getting vaccinated with family and friends is really important. That is why council staff are working with NHS staff and community colleagues to deliver vaccines to our residents in communities across Camden. Over the four weeks to 19 July we have together delivered over 33,000 vaccinations – we have increased first doses by 8% and second doses by 10%. We have helped run clinics on estates, in community centres, in markets and music venues and on our vaccine bus. We have reached out across the borough – from West Hampstead to Bloomsbury. Now over 148,000 Camden residents have so far had their first dose of the vaccine and over 110,000 have had their second. We will continue to do all we can to keep Camden residents safe. You can find more information and a vaccination centre near you at camden.gov.uk/getting-the-vaccine Councillor Georgia Gould, Leader of Camden Council
