HL GAME PLAN R42X//ASA#2558960 Outcross genetics to add muscle & volume If you’ve searched, you know that you can almost count the number of good, truly outcross bulls available on one hand. Game Plan is one of those rare options. Game Plan returns the power and muscling you expect from the long proven program at Heartland Cattle Co. Since R42X is one of the few bulls available with no Legacy in his pedigree and so provides some fresh mating options for purebred breeders, but his SimAngus sons are turning heads even more quickly. The leadoff group of bulls at T-Heart Ranch this year were half bloods sired by Game Plan. Deep sided, thick, sound structured and uniform they have a great commercial bull phenotype and were very popular with the folks in the seats. TNT E-Z-3 X360//ASA#2571661 MODERATE, MUSCULAR, & MARKETABLE
The headline above tells the whole story on E-Z-3. They are smaller frame, massive muscle, big middle individuals with a lot of eye appeal, but most importantly, they have proven to be very marketable, especially in bull sales to commercial cattlemen. When you analyze his EPD’s and $ Index Values, he is one of those sires that is just sort of average across the board, but his acceptance and demand in commercial bull sales has proven to be far from average. He does a great job of siring a “cookie cutter” look and it is a look that has been proven highly acceptable. E-Z-3 is a Purebred Simmental that comes from the same high producing cow that produced the SimAngus sires TNT DUAL FOCUS and TNT FINALE. Many breeders saw E-Z-3 last summer at Cow Camp Ranch where he was admired for his massive rib, thick muscle, and extremely sound structure. He was looking great and plans had been made for a mature photo when he was found dead one morning, totally unexplained, all alone in a bull lot. We have no clue what happened, but obviously there will never be any additional semen produced, so when the current inventory is depleted, he will no longer be available.

First Assent’s dam, Oval F Nicholette N433, is simply a great cow, period. This Joker daughter has generated one outstanding progeny after another for the Adcock’s in Illinois and still has maintained the great looks she had when she was reserve female at Louisville years ago. First Assent is her Upgrade son and the top seller of the 2012 Flying H Genetics sale in Missouri. Upgrade does some great things on the sire side for performance and mass, but finding one with nearly ideal structure and large testicle size is difficult. 117Y excels in areas where Upgrade is not strong. Athletic, large testicled and attractive he still comes with the punch of high ranking Weaning, Yearling, Milk MWW and REA EPDs. He also is a breed leader for improving Tenderness genetics. His first calves selling this year had eye catching style, balance, outstanding depth of rib, structure and performance. Calving Ease with a whole lot more! Yellowstone is the new go-to purebred bull for balanced, multi-trait strength and valuable type improvement. Outcross SimAngus that is getting it done! Black Onyx was the top selling bull at the 2012 Trinity Farms Sale in Ellensburg WA and so he was just not seen by enough folks east of the mountains. His first set of calves however should easily put him on the list of important young sires to consider. Just in his first calf crop 15 sons averaged $7350.00 at the 2014 Trinity Farms bull sale and several other breeders have sons of his selling soon. Onyx spends his time these days running with two sets of cows a year (spring and fall) at Ruby Range in Washington. The first calves weaned out of Onyx at their large commercial operation averaged 758 pounds at only 6 months of age. From a phenotype standpoint, Onyx was an easy bull to find and appreciate. He was the one you wish all your sale bulls looked like with amazing depth of side, muscling and ideal structure. His dam too is a model young female out of Preferred Beef and is very moderate for size, but strong on production. Look for Onyx to leave you muscular, eye appealing sons and very high producing daughters. He is 3/8 Simmental by breeding, so by rule when mated to ½ Simmental x ½ Angus cows, the resulting progeny are registered as half blood SimAngus with the ASA.
