Throughout the years, this basic style product has been constantly changing its design, from straightleg denim jeans to a-line denim dresses. Not only the wash or color for denim changes too, but the weight of the fabric does as well. This Spring 2016, denim takes a whole new twist in a new trend known as ‘patchwork’ denim. ‘Patchwork’ denim is known to be like a DYI project since the style is based on patched linings in dresses, to jeans with chunks of different denim washes stitched together. If one wishes to dress-up with a minimal style but still wants to add movement and playfullness to it, ‘fringe’ is the key.

FLARED 70s 04/29/2016 In the fashion world, general trends of a particular period of time or a trend characterized by representations of traces of the past, is known as ‘zeitgeist.’ The ‘70s was a period filled with a sense of creativity and freedom. Fashion during that time was influenced by outfits seen in popular music groups and even in Hollywood films. One of the main most popular style of the ‘70s were the ‘bell-bottomed’ pants; these were a style of trousers that become wider from the knees downward, forming a bell-like shape at the end of the leg. This Spring 2016, the ‘bell-bottom’ pants or now known as ‘flared pants’ are back and it is one of the most popular trends in the fashion world. Although this trend still has the ‘70s classical characteristics, it has incorporated the use of colorful prints, and instead of denim, they are now made of cotton-stretch-like fabric. When it comes to tops, bodysuits, and even dresses, it seems as if the term ‘lace-up’ instantly implies that it will be nothing but sexy but in reality, this trend is an elegant way of bringing the kind of small yet gorgeous detail of bedroomwear into the daily wardrobe of a women without making it seem out of place or inappropriate. Now, the ‘lace-up’ trend is also a great way of making all kinds of footwear be playful yet at the same time beautifully elegant.
