Welcome! This year’s selection is all about texture, including a variety of binding styles, materials, colors, and patterns, focusing on thickness, softness, and subtle contrasts. We’re offering an assortment of natural colors, papers, patterns, and fabrics, emphasizing delicacy and elegance, as well as simplicity and functionality. We make every one of our handbound books and letterpress pieces by hand, in Brooklyn, New York. Each album is bound carefully and precisely, using archival, acid-free materials. Each card is printed by hand on our 1915 Golding Official No. 4 cast iron press. Most importantly, everything we make is designed to be fun, functional, and lasting. Letterpress cards The text and image on each of these 4bar cards (4 7/8” wide x 3 1/2” high, when folded) is centered on a bright white 100% cotton card, each with a delicate image above the text. These are simple cards for everyday use, designed to be both fun and beautiful. Letterpress cards Stitching cards These A2 cards (5.5” wide x 4.25” high) use an abstract drawing of the stitches that bind some of our albums. The rhythmic, handmade pattern of this gentle set of lines is sometimes printed as plain stitching, and others are accompanied by a message, including handwritten “congratulations” and “happy birthday” cards, as well as lowercase “oceans of love” (the way my great-grandmother signed her letters to my mom), and a simple “i love you”.

Coptic Stitch Journals These journals are covered with richly colored Japanese silkscreened papers (known as Chiyogami) and Nepalese fiber papers. The journals have 40 pages (80 front & back) of heavy, off-white printmaking paper, and are bound with a visible Coptic stitch, a self-reinforcing knotted structure, with waxed linen thread. This unique structure allows the book to lie flat when open and, while the stitching is delicate in appearance, it is also sturdy enough to carry with you and use every day.

Coptic Stitch Photo Albums These elegant albums include 30 pages (60, front & back), of heavy, recycled, cream-colored printmaking paper. The binding is a visible Coptic stitch, a knotted and selfreinforcing structure,using a heavy Irish linen thread. Photos can be added to the albums using photo corners or archival adhesive. This unique structure allows the book to lie flat when open and, while the intricacy of this stitching is delicate in appearance, it is also sturdy enough to enjoy generations of use. Pamphlet Stitch Albums These three-section pamphlet stitch albums are simple, sturdy, and at once beautiful and functional. Albums are available in 8” x 8”, 10” x 10” and 12” x 12” dimensions. Each album is bound by hand with 36 pages of heavy, recycled, creamcolored printmaking paper (72 pages, front & back) and photos can be added using photo corners or archival adhesive. The albums’ simple and visible pamphlet stitching uses a heavy Irish linen thread, in a color that matches the cover paper and contrasts with the bookcloth over the spine. The simplicity of this stitching technique emphasizes the neutral colors and soft patterns featured on the covers of these albums.

Pamphlet Stitch Guest Books These guest books are 10” wide x 6.5” high. Each guest book is bound with 36 blank pages of heavy, recycled, cream-colored printmaking paper (72 pages, front & back). The books are blank to accommodate messages from guests, and can easily accommodate the addition of photos, invitations, or Polaroid pictures of guests! The visible stitching is done in a heavy Irish linen thread, in a color that matches the cover paper and contrasts with the bookcloth over the spine.

Every book we make is bound by hand, and is made using archival, acid-free materials, to protect everything you put on its pages.

Letterpress printing, at its most basic, is the process of printing inked type and images from a raised surface. Each piece is individually printed by hand and each color of ink requires a separate run through the press.

Custom binding services range from wedding albums to artistsâ&#x20AC;&#x2122; portfolios, to protective drop spine boxes, and plenty more.

We offer a variety of binding styles, including decorative Coptic stitching, pamphlet binding, and traditional library- style binding. Each book is carefully constructed by hand and is functional, sturdy, and designed to last. Hand binding offers a lasting, meaningful element to the design and structure of any book, whether a promotional piece, a fine press book, or any album or keepsake.

Letterpress creates lovely, tactile images and allows the finest, most delicate lines of text and image to shine against rich, thick papers. We often use a 100% cotton stock that takes the impression of the plate wonderfully, and shows off the printing technique beautifully, as well as what differentiates it from modern forms of printing.
