Welcome! In the pages that follow, you’ll find letterpress printed cards and postcards, handbound albums and journals, and a variety of styles, materials, colors, and patterns, textures, and subtle contrasts. Our assortment of new letterpress cards includes postcards, greeting cards, and journals using a series of Maggie’s natural history and illustrations. There are also fun and delicate constellation journals, and modern Moroccan designs. In this year’s holiday selections, you’ll also be happy to see our snow angel cards return, among other seasonal designs and an assortment of vibrant colors. When it comes to books, you’ll find a variety of exposed bindings for both albums and journals, as well as fun new perfect bound journals featuring letterpress printed covers. Every one of our handbound books and letterpress cards is made by hand, by us, in Brooklyn, New York. Each album is bound carefully and precisely, using archival, acid-free materials. Each card is printed by hand, most often on our 1915 Golding Official No. 4 cast iron press. Most importantly, everything we make is designed to be fun, functional, and lasting. Natural history letterpress postcards Maybe that history degree made sense after all...and I am a midwestern girl, so I guess it’s no surprise that the natural world has made such inroads in to my designs! These designs are printed from original drawings featuring a variety of insects and arachnids, based on 19th century natural history illustrations. Each postcard measures 6” wide x 4.25” high and is letterpress printed in chocolate brown ink on heavy kraft-brown chipboard. The postcards are available individually, or as a set of 10 cards (one of each design).

Modern Moroccan / Ironwork During a trip to Morocco, we found ourselves immersed in bright colors, patterns, tile, ceramics, and architecture. The lines and patterns of Islamic design are mesmerizing and inspire a variety of feelings, depending on the colors and materials used to create them. Everyone loves receiving beautiful mail. These cards feature simple line drawings of Moroccan ironwork, letterpress printed in simple, soft colors. Each card is blank inside and is printed on heavy, white 100% cotton stock and these designs are available as individual cards or as boxed sets of 5 cards of the same color and design.

SNOW ANGEL Our most popular card, this playful snow angel is printed in a soft turquoise ink with the angel blind debossed (without ink, just the impression). Each card is packaged with a matching bright white cotton envelope.

ORION HAPPY NEW YEAR Orion is perhaps the most prominent feature of the midwinter sky, and a wonderful marker of the new year! Pamphlet stitch photo albums These three-section pamphlet stitch albums are simple, sturdy, beautiful, and functional. Available in 8”x8”, 10”x10” and 12”x12” dimensions, each album is bound by hand with a heavy Irish linen thread, with 36 pages of heavy, recycled, cream-colored printmaking paper (72 sides, front & back), and photos can be added using photo corners or archival adhesive.

Chiyogami covered Coptic stitch photo albums These albums are covered with rich Japanese silkscreened papers (known as Chiyogami). Each album has 30 pages (60, front & back) of heavy, cream-colored printmaking paper, and are bound with a visible Coptic stitch, a selfreinforcing knotted structure, with waxed linen thread. Albums are available in 8”, 10” and 12” square dimensions. Their unique structure allows the book to lie flat when open and, while the stitching is delicate in appearance, it is also sturdy enough to endure generations of use. Photos can be added using photo corners or archival adhesive.

Coptic stitch journals These journals are covered with richly colored papers, including Japanese silkscreens (Chiyogami), prints, and fiber papers. The journals measure 5” wide by 7” high, with 40 pages (80 front & back) of heavy, off-white paper, and are bound with waxed linen thread in a visible Coptic stitch, a self-reinforcing knotted structure. This structure allows the book to lie flat when open and, while the stitch appears delicate, it is sturdy enough to carry with you every day.

Accordion photo albums

Accordion albums are a wonderful way to keep photos safe and display them. Each album measures 5” wide by 7“ high. The interior paper is a heavyweight, cream-colored printmaking paper and the album will hold a total of 10 vertical 4” x 6” photos, using photo corners (included, in a glassine envelope). The front of the album, standing up, displays 6 photos, while the remaining 4 photos can be attached to the reverse side. These are great bridesmaid, baby shower, and grandparent gifts!

Ordering details P Letterpress Our white letterpress papers & envelopes are 100% cotton (tree free!) heavyweight stock. Our kraft brown papers and envelopes are from a small, family owned and operated paper mill. Since everything we do is better seen and felt in person, please just let us know if you would like samples of our papers or cards.
