Congratulations to us! Auckland Transport has awarded CBS the Gold Standard Award for our programme to increase safe, healthy, active and sustainable journeys to and from school. In essence, this means having increasing numbers walking, biking and scooting to school. In other words - not coming by car! Well done to those people who have helped us achieve this award. In spite of the numbers not using vehicles to come to and from school we are experiencing real problems in our increasingly congested bus bay in the mornings. Hence, you can expect a notice in the next 24 hours explaining changes that will be made to the use of the bus bay in the mornings.
Does your child travel to school by bus? Auckland Transport is proposing changes that will make bus services more frequent, easier to use and more reliable. Your child’s school travel may be affected by the proposed changes. Auckland Transport is asking North Shore residents for feedback. The closing date is 13 July 2015. The changes are planned to take place in 2017, but the time for feedback is now. Find out more A consultation brochure with a map of proposed services and how to give feedback can be viewed online at www.AT.govt.nz/NewNetwork Ministry of Education School Buses are not part of this consultation.

PINK SHIRT DAY Two weeks ago, Friday ago was full of fun and excitement. A group of kids in Room 30 organised a fantastic Pink Shirt Week to raise awareness about bullying. Every day a question was put on the morning news about how we could help stop bullying. The person with the best answer each day won a pink loom bracelet to wear for this special week. A huge shout out to everyone who got involved!! Some students (and classes) also submitted anti-bullying songs, poems and raps and these students won free pink popcorn! Thank you everyone for your support! You all looked amazing on Friday and everyone who dressed in pink should feel proud! We want to thank all students, teachers and parents for donating and helping out as we wouldn't have done it without you! On the behalf of Room 30 thank you very much!! It was so amazing to see Campbells Bay School stand up and say NO to bullying! We raised over $800 for the Pink Shirt Foundation! Campbells Bay! Kaiah Kerekere—Year 5, Room 30
