Forest Weeding This Week Tuesday, 19 May 9.15am - Yr 0/1 11.00am - International Students Wednesday, 20 May 9.15am - Yr 6 and Yr 3 11.00am - Yr 5 and Yr 4 Because of recent wet weather please be prepared for muddy conditions and have gumboots if possible, gloves and spare clothing to wear to save your school uniform.

Not Self~ But Service See you all there. In spirit of our school motto 'Not self~But service', next week we would like to raise some money for Nepal. As a school we would like students to be more aware of the reasons for bringing in some money so this will run Monday to Thursday 25 - 29 May, with the intention of students having daily discussions at home and school around the support that is happening in Nepal and where their money could possibly be used. As a home~school link we are encouraging students to 'earn' some money to donate to the funds, or use some of their own money in the aim that we can promote sharing our money with those in need. During this week perhaps each student could earn the coins they are going to bring in next week. Each class will be responsible for building a mountain for Nepal made out of silver and gold coins. We appreciate all donations no matter what size. Forest Weeding: This week will be using our service skills to weed our lovely community forest. See this page for dates and times. Forest Clean-up: Some of the staff and students have noticed that the forest has a bit of rubbish in it. Thursday 4 June (weather permitting) we are asking for volunteers to help pick up some of the rubbish. Students must be accompanied by an adult. Please bring along a plastic bag or two to collect the rubbish in and meet outside Room 9 at 3.15pm if you are able to help out. Gumboots or old shoes are recommended as it might be a bit muddy.

Moonjars are Coming There is nothing to worry about on the extraterrestrial front. Rather, we will be promoting Moonjars as a way of helping children learn more about the value of money and how to save, spend (on themselves) and donate (not to themselves!) In the coming weeks we will be promoting Moonjars in the spirit of the school's motto: Not Self But Service.

A Reminder - Safety Check

Excellent News from Harbour Sport For the second year in a row Rob Padgett (CBS) has received the Top Ambassador Award for his work promoting Shore to Shore. This is just recognition of a job thoroughly well done as Rob has been our school champion of the Shore to Shore for many years. This year a Harbour Sport record of 810 registrations came from one school: Campbells Bay School, out of a total 6004 registrations. This was a stunning achievement. As a result of our involvement in Shore to Shore 2015 the school has received $3,400 for sporting and physical education equipment.

As the winter chills creep in and children are away sick or attending appointments, can we please ask that you email or phone the safety check line to notify the school of absences.
