Parliament Passes the Quartering Act! There is a new law for the colonists to follow as of today! His Royal Majesty has finally agreed with Parliament to pass the Quartering Act upon the colonists of the West. The Quartering Act requires the colonies to house His Majesty’s soldiers in barracks provided by the colonies. However, if the barracks are too small to accommodate all our soldiers, then the remaining troops are to be accommodated into local inns, livery stables, ale houses, victualing houses, and the houses of sellers of wine. If yet there are soldiers that are still without shelter the law allows them to find accommodation by the colonists on their land. They are required to properly address the Royal troops wherever there is space for them in the property. His Majesty’s troops are to address the colonists in the friendliest of manners and be grateful for their kindness in giving them shelter. However, some of the colonial governor’s seem unpleased by the rules this act instills. The Governor of New York has refused to give our loyal and kind troops the right to plead for refuge in
any of the homes in that colony. Locals around the colonies are feeling discomfort in relation to this act. They feel as if it is too much of a burden to them to house a few soldiers while they have nowhere to go. They should not be so inconsiderate because His Majesty’s soldiers are there to protect them and the least they could do is provide them with some food, water, and shelter. They believe His Royal Majesty and Parliament are trying to fool them and impose a type of tax upon the locals. Britain as a whole wishes not to try to impose any sort of trickery upon our dear colonies who give so much to us. Parliament just wishes to ensure that any sense of revolt due to the Stamp Act may not be exaggerated. Even more so, Parliament is passing this act in order to ensure the safety of the colonists. They do not wish for the soldiers to become a burden of any kind upon them and only house them if there is space in an empty barn, wine cabinet, etc. Moreover, the grave situation in the barracks of Boston has forced

Direct tax imposed on the colonies Arliament recently passed a law stating that all legal documents, newspapers, licenses, etc. will be taxed. This so called “Stamp Act” is a direct tax on the colonies and every colonist must pay their obligation. As of March 22, colonists will be obligated to pay what is an unusual tax for them and the common tax for us. Never before have the colonists payed a tax to fund the Royal Crown, all taxes and duties extant in the colonies have been to fund commerce and trade. Finally, the colonies must pay the tax we the British have been paying all our lives. Colonists must pay a tariff for every printed piece of paper they
use. Fortunately for the Americans, the tax imposed on these will fund the troops protecting the American frontier. “This should have been passed a long time ago,” exclaimed John Efron, advisor to His Majesty. “British tax payers have been paying for all of the American benefits, it was about time the colonists pay their own resources”. The tax will lie between 0.50 pounds and 10 pounds. This reform has been strictly enforced and those who refuse to pay the tax will be punished. As of Yesterday, these rules have been set and the Royal leaders expect colonists to cooperate.
Patrick Henry opposes the Stamp Act The Virginian Assembly is in opposition to comply with the Stamp Act! As a reaction to the Stamp Act passed by Parliament, Patrick Henry of the House of Burgesses has written seven resolutions. Seven disrespectful resolves to be exact. To the eyes of Parliament this has been an extremely radical move opposing their authority. Those in the House of Burgesses rebelliously claim that only those in the Assembly can make them obey laws. They are only willing to obey laws and pay taxes passed by the Assembly because they are appalled by the fact of not having representation in Parliament. Even amongst the members of the Assembly have Patrick Henry’s shocking resolutions were debated. Some more than others have been intensely debated. These sweeping resolves or ideas created by Henry are being widely spread in newspapers around colonies. Rebellious colonists are creating propaganda using these resolves as to change everyone’s ideals. Do not let this intolerable actions be contagious and affect your obedience to England! Colonists, beware! None of you shall be influenced by such ideals! Opposing His Majesty and Parliament is the worst thing you can do.
