For this spring, [the C.A.R.E. committee has] lined up the current Valentine’s Day Candy Grams, a Golden Egg Hunt and an end of year celebration.

After a COVID-19 year hiatus, RecBoard relaunched this past fall with a new executive board (e-board) ready to serve YOU and the greater MSU community. As a Campus Recreation sponsored student organization, RecBoard is focused on continuously acknowledging recreation employees (C.A.R.E.) and providing community service opportunities for our student leaders and the MSU student body. We are committed to building the Campus Rec family from within with C.A.R.E. and by working together on meaningful service projects. The C.A.R.E. committee – led by George Kalosieh – met weekly in the fall with a group of student leaders to bring you the colorful “Thankful Hands Turkey” and the rockin “Holiday Party”. For this spring, they have lined up the current Valentine’s Day Candy Grams, a Golden Egg Hunt and an end of year celebration. Come join your fellow Campus Rec student leaders on the C.A.R.E. committee to bring these spring events to life, as well as brainstorm new ideas for the future. Our Community Service committee – led by Teni Bello and Taylor Tavernier – hit the road running in the fall with a Breast Cancer Walk and Hygiene Drive for the Covenant House NJ. In total, they raised over $500 for these charities. November was community service month at the Saturday Night Lounges, and blanket making for the United Community Corp. of Newark was a big hit, so much so, that we have reprised this event for MLK Day of Service. For this spring, we are excited to bring an MSU Sleep Out to raise awareness of homeless teens.
