Parents, educators, and members of the community, Here at Zama High School we are about to end this exciting chapter and start a new as we graduate onto the next step. However, this is not something we could have made it to without all the people who helped us get here. People who have wanted us to succeed more than we did. People who could see the potential in us that we may not have seen in ourselves, and instead of watching to see if we’d unlock it, they put us on the path where we would succeed. To parents, we thank you for your support and love and for pushing us to be the best students we could be. However, you didn’t just push us to be great students but good friends, avid learners, supportive teammates, active citizens, and well rounded people overall. You helped us develop these traits that won’t just allow us to succeed in high school, but that will help us succeed in life. To teachers, thank you for all the time and attention you gave us to help us do well in your classes. Thank you for introducing us to new materials that, at the moment, we may not have noticed the impact, but that we will be able to use at some point in the future. Thank you for always pushing us and having high expectations for us so that we could do our best. To other school faculty and mentors, thank you for all the behind the scenes work that may not have been recognized and for all the work you have put in to help us reach this tremendous turning point in our lives. Thank you for your support and instruction and the many hours you invested into our education and growth. To everyone else who has been there for us, motivated us to work harder, prayed for us, never gave up on us, and pushed us to do better and be better, we thank you. We could not have made it this far without all of you. We hope we can show you our appreciation and gratitude by doing the best we can do in this next chapter of our lives. Thank you! Aubrey Giles Senior Class President

EVER BEEN TO KURE HARBOR? KURE RECREATION CENTER

During WWII, the Kure Naval District was Japan’s single largest naval base and arsenal, housing most of the city’s industry and workforce employed in the service of naval installations, munitions factories and other support functions. It is this strategic significance that drew a heavy and sustained Allied bombardment culminating in the Bombing of Kure in June and July 1945. Today, Kure continues to be a major maritime center hosting the dockyards of numerous shore based facilities of the JMSDF, gaining fame as a tourism enter featuring artifacts and mementos from the JMSDF museum of naval history. Come and visit Kure Recreation Center and immerse yourself in the beauty and history of Kure Harbor. Our facilities offer dining & bar services, a package store, gym, commissary, clean and convenient lodging at affordable rates.

Top Tips • Interior/Exterior Cleaning Tips

1) Did you know you can use baby wipes to clean the interior of your vehicle? Of course one company may work better than another but either way this could still save you money. NOTE: For leather interior/seats you may want to try on a small area in an inconspicuous spot to make sure it does not discolor or cause any kind of damage. 2) If you have leather interior, try using shaving cream for cleaning it, but be sure try it on a small area in an inconspicuous spot just to make sure it does not damage it. 3) Did you know you can use Oolong tea to remove smoke residue on the interior glass of your car? The oolong tea helps break down the tar and makes it easier to wipe up. You could even use it to clean the plastic trim too.

Tire machine & wheel balancer 43

We have NEW Motorcycle Wheel Adapters for the tire machine.

4) If you have a crack in the windshield or any window on the vehicle and you want to help keep it from spreading or growing, try some clear nail polish and dab a little on it. This is only a short and temporary fix and depending on the location of the crack, if it is on the front windshield, it may not pass JCI inspection.

AUTO SKILLS CENTER Summer Manager’s Specials

Child & Youth Services New Fee Policy (School Year 2021-2022) On September 2, 2021, the Army implemented the School Year 2021-2022 (SY21-22) Army Child and Youth Fee Policy as required by the SY21-22 Department of Defense (DoD) Child Development Program Fee Policy. The DoD Fee Policy, issued each year, prescribes uniform fee regulations for military child developments programs based on Total Family Income (TFI). The key points included in the SY21-22 Child and Youth Fee Policy are: The SY21-22 Fee Policy represents year one of the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) 5 year model to gradually increase the number of income categories and fees. The SY21-22 Fee Policy increases the number of fee categories from 9 to 13 TFI categories. Category TFI ranges occur in $10,000 increments starting at $30,000. The Services, directed by OSD, are to implement the minimum compensation rate (hourly pay

rate) for all direct care staff in child development programs and youth programs. OSD made changes to the fee policy to generate income to help pay for these increases for child development program staff and to facilitate staff recruitment and retention. The hourly care rate has changed from $5 to $7. A daily fee of $50 is charged for occasional users attending School Age Care (SAC) more than 4 hours per day. A daily fee of $30 is charged for occasional users attending SAC 4 or less hours per day. An occasional user daily fee of $30 applies to occasional users needing supervised programming before 1 p.m. on school out days. Parent fees TFI have not changed since SY18-19. Please contact Parent Central Services at 263-4125 if you have any questions or to address any issues or concerns.

*Must be registered at Parent Central Services to participate. SOFA Status Members Only.
