Christmas Around the World
Friday • December 7 • 6 - 9 p.m. Camp Zama Youth Center • Bldg. 744 What started off as a small get-together in 1998 evolved into the largest, most popular Child and Youth Services event in Camp Zama! This year we’re featuring food sampling from around the world, children’s games, family activities, live music and dance performances, photos with Santa, prize giveaways and more. This particular year is a very special one as we celebrate the 20th year anniversary of the Christmas Around the World program. So gather the kids, bundle up and we’ll see you at the Camp Zama Youth Center on December 7.

During WWII, the Kure Naval District was Japan’s single largest naval base and arsenal, housing most of the city’s industry and workforce employed in the service of naval installations, munitions factories and other support functions. It is this strategic significance that drew a heavy and sustained Allied bombardment culminating in the Bombing of Kure in June and July 1945. Today, Kure continues to be a major maritime center hosting the dockyards of numerous shore based facilities of the JMSDF, gaining fame as a tourism center featuring artifacts and mementos from the JMSDF museum of naval history. Come and visit Camp Kure and immerse yourself in the beauty and history of Kure Harbor. Our facilities offer dining & bar services, a package store, gym, commissary, clean and convenient lodging at affordable rates.

Junking Vehicle Service Our process consists of picking up the vehicle if it cannot be driven, and bringing the vehicle to the junk yard. We then return the license plates, base decal paperwork and guarantee you’ll receive all Yen from the junk yard handed to the Auto Skills Center employee. Unfortunately we do not go to LTO for you, sorry. *Please Note: The Yen received from the junkyard is determined by the cost of steel at that time, therefore we cannot advertise a figure.

Community is available to assist families who have school-age children enrolled in Zama High, Zama Middle, and Arnn Elementary School, or who are home-schooling their children. The SLO is available to work with the community and command on any school related issues such as assisting families involved in home-schooling by offering / coordinating resources available within the community that will help broaden their youth’s hands-on knowledge and experiences.
