In the month of February, you should be hip deep in powdered snow at the many ski/snowboard resorts in Japan! Not only does our Outdoor Recreation have these popular tours, we also offer just about anything you need for you to have a great time this season. So yeah...Let it Snow!
February Tour Highlights Get out & see Japan!
Ski & Snowboard Trip at Shiga Kogen & Yakebitai Shiga Kogen is located in Nagano Prefecture, which hosted the alpine skiing and snowboarding events of the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics. This famous ski area consists of 18 resorts with slopes suitable for every type of skier and snowboarder! On this trip, we’re taking you to Yakebitai, for ease and convenient access to other Shiga Kogen resorts!
Snow Shoeing on Mt. Fuji
Ski & Snowboard Trip at Tsugaike Kogen
Let’s enjoy hiking, running and sledding on snow-covered Mt. Fuji! We will start the hike from Gotenbaguchi 5th Station area, an altitude of 1,440 meters, and then walk towards the Twin Peaks (1,929 meters) area where you’ll enjoy magnificent sights from the top! Afterwards, we’ll share a meal as our guide cooks lunch in the snow for the team!
Tsugaike Kogen is located in Nagano Prefecture and is a large resort with 28 lifts that offers skiers & snowboarders an impressive 880 meter (2887 feet) of vertical descent. Tsugaike Kogen has 385 acres of terrain with over 11 ski slopes! This resort is suitable for beginners to advanced skiers and snowboarders. Kids Park and slopes are also available!

CAMP ZAMA GOLF CLUB Camp Zama • Bldg. 809 DSN: 263-5284 Commercial: 046-407-5284 Tip of the Month
Get a Grip
Energy is created from the ground, through the feet and it is up to the hands to release that energy into the club. For this reason, the placement of the grip is crucial, not just for direction, but for distance as well. Unfortunately most golfers hold the club in a way that feels comfortable to them, which usually means deep in the palms of the hands and this is the main cause of a slice and loss of power. You should be placing your hands more inward and towards each other or on top of the club, so it feels like you are holding the club more in the finger tips. You want to see at least 2 knuckles on your glove hand and make sure the club face is square at address. You may feel like the club will fly out your hands and that you have no control, this is absolutely fine, because in fact you don’t want to hold on to the club for dear life. You need to hold the club as if you are holding an instrument or a bird without squashing it. As you change your grip, your hands will try to move differently through impact and now you should focus on setting the wrist early in the backswing and then releasing the hands through impact, what this means is that you should be rolling the glove hand with the knuckles down (supinated) to create maximum leverage and compress the ball with the ground. You may have heard the term of hitting down to make the ball go up. If you stand on the edge of the ball and push down quickly with your shoe, you can understand this principle as the ball will pop up and spin back towards you and that is exactly what you want to do with the golf club.
