To the graduating class of 2019, Congratulations on your accomplishment, and be very proud of this achievement. Many more will follow you in life. Remember, you shall not pass this way again, so cherish everything about your high school experience: friends, memories, good times, and mostly friends. People will come and people will go in your life, but true friends are always there. Never forget the special bond that you hold with your DoDEA friends. Collaborations and communication are the hallmarks of 21st century learning and business. So the bond that you share with a fellow graduate and friend could lead to the next major innovation that makes a difference in the world. Do not deny yourself any opportunity, because nothing beats a failure but a try. You are well prepared to face the world and make a tremendous difference. Within each of you, there are seed of greatness waiting to grow and blossom. Focus on your gift, find what you love to do, perfect it into a talent, share that with world, and then go forth and do something great! Success awaits you! Always remember to be happy, and Have a Zamazing Life! Mr. Wayne Carter

EVER BEEN TO KURE HARBOR? Camp Kure (Akizuki) Recreation/Lodging

During WWII, the Kure Naval District was Japan’s single largest naval base and arsenal, housing most of the city’s industry and workforce employed in the service of naval installations, munitions factories and other support functions. It is this strategic significance that drew a heavy and sustained Allied bombardment culminating in the Bombing of Kure in June and July 1945. Today, Kure continues to be a major maritime center hosting the dockyards of numerous shore based facilities of the JMSDF, gaining fame as a tourism center featuring artifacts and mementos from the JMSDF museum of naval history. Come and visit Camp Kure and immerse yourself in the beauty and history of Kure Harbor. Our facilities offer dining & bar services, a package store, gym, commissary, clean and convenient lodging at affordable rates.
