INTRODUCTION Since its inception in the early 1960s, the USM Haller System has been a benchmark for elegantly styled, highly functional furniture design. Created by legendary Swiss architect Fritz Haller, USM Haller has graced the interiors of beautiful spaces around the world, including the homes of fashion designers and musicians, artists and galleries, and museums such as Musée d’Orsay and the Museum of Modern Art, among others. The beauty of USM Haller lies in its endless versatility – the fully customizable system is both stylish and discreet, with options as colorful and varied as the homes it inhabits. Over 50 years after its debut the USM Haller continues to evolve, adapting to the everchanging needs of daily life. Designed to last, the system can be completely reconfigured as life changes, whether it’s a new house or apartment, a new technology or trend, or a growing family. In the following pages we invite you to explore some of the creative new ways USM Haller is being reimagined in a diverse array of residences around the world.

Freiburg, Germany

This storage unit in the home of a Berlin-based graffit artist was previously used as a filing cabinet, but now stores firewood for his stove, which dates back to the 18th century. Though driven by function, the decision to reconfigure the system has proved aesthetically pleasing as well, offering a contrast in material and texture. The remaining doors also come in locking versions, should he need to store important documents or valuables.
