Rebecca Hohnsbein and Brian Dumont star as engaged couple Mary and Royal Strathcona Horse Regiment Trooper Charlie Edwards in the Camrose Founders Days and Camrose Heritage Railway Station and Park presentation of Canadian writer Steven Massicotte’s version of Mary’s Wedding. It is a dramatic and heartfelt reenactment of a First World War experience that is told through Mary’s memories and dreams. Rebecca also plays Sergeant Gordon Muriel Flowerdew in a challenging dual role. Mary’s Wedding is directed by Sandra McLay. A Founders Days dessert theatre will be held at the Bailey Theatre on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 7 p.m. It will be followed by a Sunday matinee performance on Aug. 17 beginning at 2 p.m. Tickets are available at the Camrose Heritage Railway Station by calling 780-672-3099, or at Candler Art Gallery. The film Canadians at War will be shown prior to the play, along with a talk by Marion Bennett and a sing-along performance led by vocalist and pianist Michelle Peterson.
