Construction of Camrose City Hall is on time and remains on budget. In the coming days, glass will be installed on the front of the building. All mechanical components are now on-site and in various phases of installation. The roof is completely finished. Most of the inside concrete has been polished to perfection. The massive structure, which has changed the landscape of the downtown core, will be substantially complete in January and the building will be completely occupied and accessible to the public in March, 2015. The decision in 2012 for the new 38,750 square foot building came after many years of council deliberation and intense discussion. The building features four storeys, with three floors completed. The top floor will accommodate future staff growth in the areas of Customer Service, Administration, Finance, Corporate Services and Infrastructure and Planning. For the time being, use of the fourth floor will be limited to storage of documents. The design and plan features 100 off-street parking stalls, some of which are underground. Total cost of the building is $18.2 million.
