A pair of new

chip-embedded waste carts Roger Admiral

have been ordered for every eligible household in the city. The 240 litre black cart will only be for items destined for the landfill. The equal-sized green cart will be strictly for organic material. The carts are set to be delivered to your doorstep starting on April 4 in time for the first automated collection pick-ups on the week of May 2. Note that your collection location and day of service will not change. If you presently have garbage pick-up on Thursday each week, you will continue to have pick-ups on this same day of the week and in the same location. However, you will have to strategically place your containers in a level position, facing forward (away from your home), and allow one metre of clearance on all sides and above so that trucks can operate safely and effectively. All waste will have to be ready for pick-up by 7:45 am on your appointed collection day. Lids will need to be completely closed so that waste is not spilled during the collection process. All information can be found on the City of Camrose website at www.camrose.ca/automated-waste.

Air Cadets install new Commanding Officer Camrose By Dan Jensen The 644 Camrose Rotary Royal Air Cadet Squadron has installed Capt. Louise Meier as its new commanding officer. Capt. Meier joined the squadron this past December after serving as commanding officer in Grande Prairie, Cold Lake, and more recently, Beaumont. “I had been away from cadets for a year and a half and felt that I had the time once again to devote to the program since I was no longer employed in civilian life as a training and development professional” said Meier. “When I contacted the Air Cadet League for central they told me there was an opening in Camrose.” She has been very impressed with what she has seen so far. “The squadron has a very long history in Camrose and that is something we want to build on,” she said. “Everyone on staff here has their hearts in the right place.” Capt. Meier became involved with the Royal Air Cadets 20 years ago in support of her son. After sitting as a member of the parent committee she ran for a spot on the executive, serving both as treasurer and president. “I was volunteering in supply in Grande Prairie when the commanding officer asked me if I wanted to get into uniform,” she said. “I eventually started to help out with training and then went into commanding. I wanted to give back to the program that had given my son so much. It gave him confidence, stability and values.” Youth who are associ-

ated with the Royal Air Cadets program receive a deep set of life skills and a sense of belonging. The program has been described as a way of growing young Canadians to be good citizens, one cadet at a time. “They all wear the same uniform, they all march the same and they have the same haircut,” said Capt. Meier. “Nobody is singled out or made to feel different from anybody else.” Youth also have an opportunity to explore a wide variety of interests, from piloting power aircraft or gliders to travel. “The opportunities they have are huge,” said Capt. Meier. “Right now we have some cadets who are involved in mock boards, which helps them prepare for interviews they will have to do when they apply for scholarships, pilot training

or work as aircraft mechanics. We have another group that is practicing for public speaking competitions, which will help them out when they enter the business world.” The 644 Camrose Rotary Royal Canadian Air Cadets is affiliated with the 410 Cougars squadron, which trains fighter pilots to fly F-18s. “I was fortunate enough to ride in the back seat of an F-18 so I have a passion for the Cougars,” said Capt. Meier. The 644 Camrose Rotary Royal Air Cadet Squadron meets at the Camrose Community Centre once a week from September to May. There is no enrollment fee, and everything the cadets need, including the uniforms for parades and drills, is supplied. Along with what they learn about aircraft and

citizenship, cadets are able to participate in sporting activities designed to promote fitness, and attend outdoor camps where they learn about survival tactics. After breaking up in the spring, they have a chance to attend summer camps, the most prestigious being one in which a select number of cadets, who have demonstrated a high understanding of aviation, have a chance to earn their private pilot’s licence. “I have seen cadets who can’t drive a car but can fly an airplane,” said Capt. Meier. The 644 Camrose Rotary Royal Air Cadet Squadron was organized in March, 1957. The Air Cadet League of Canada named the Camrose Rotary Club top sponsoring committee in Alberta in 1965, 1969, 1971 and 1999.

Good news about Farm Enhancement Act Bruce Hinkley, MLA Wetaskiwin-Camrose

Good news for the City of Wetaskiwin as their application for MSI capital funding has been approved for 52 Street reconstruction at $737,100. This is part of our government’s investment of $34 billion over the next five years in infrastructure. Our government is correcting Alberta’s infrastructure deficit while stimulating the economy and getting Albertans back to work. Acting on the advice of former Bank of Canada Governor, David Dodge, we are accelerating Alberta’s capital construction program and investing in schools, roads and hospitals. Good news about the Farm Enhancement Act from Premier Rachel Notley. The websites are providing more detail and the panel to determine the technical standards will be announced in February. When one goes to the Occupational Health and Safety website the usual codes (#1

to 29) do not yet apply, as continued consultation over the coming year will determine farm commodity specific regulations reflecting the uniqueness of farming when compared to other businesses. No OH + S inspector will be suddenly, unexpectedly on someone’s farm. The basic rules for the coming year are one has a “duty to take reasonable safety” and “avoid foreseeable risk.” One of the advantages of Workers’ Compensation Board insurance is that it will provide no fault insurance coverage in the event of a work related injury. Protection is provided to workers and employers regardless of who caused the work injury. This is the only insurance that offers protection from lawsuit for all parties. Here are some important websites: www.farmandranch.alberta.ca is where you can sign up for updates and get information. For WCB you can make

applications at www.wcb. ab.ca or phone: 1-866-9229221 for information. Occupational Health and Safety can be reached at 1-866-415-8690 or www. work.alberta.ca/occupational-health-safety. It was interesting to read in the 2014 annual report for the Alberta Cattle Feeders’ Association that they had been in consultation with government officials about agriculture being placed under OH +S regulations. The ACFA recommended adopting farm safety guidelines from the Alberta Farm Safety Advisory Council and said that the ACFA would take a lead on the Work Safe Alberta Joint Strategic Advisory Body. It is good news that government and agri-businesses had been in consultation for a number of years. Groups such as the Cattle Feeders will have lots to contribute to an effective, relevant Farm Enhancement Act. Good news also from

MacLean’s journalist Jason Kirby, who writes that despite the huge loss of jobs, the recession, and government debt Alberta’s economy has remained surprisingly resilient (not the economic Armageddon some have predicted). “Where jobs have been slashed in oil and gas, they have been made up for in other sectors. Alberta has actually outpaced the rest of the country in employment growth since oil prices collapsed. It helps that Alberta’s labour market is far more diversified than most people believe, meaning it is able to adapt more quickly to shocks like the oil crash. In fact, University of Calgary economist Trevor Tomke, has shown that Alberta has the least concentrated job market of any province.” Seven per cent unemployment is bad news but that 93 per cent of workers are employed is good news!

Camrose residents continue to be among the most generous in the province. A report by Statistics Canada shows that Camrose ranked fifth amongst Alberta cities in 2014 with a median donation per tax filer of just under $500. The median charitable donation for tax filers was the highest in Lacombe at $790. Wetaskiwin was second on the list with median charitable donations of $590 per tax filer, followed by Lethbridge at $580 and Fort McMurray at $550. Communities below Camrose were High River at approximately $470, Canmore, Okotoks, Brooks, Red Deer, Calgary, Grande Prairie, Lloydminster, Edmonton, Sylvan Lake, Strathmore, Medicine Hat and Cold Lake. “It appears that donations in smaller towns and cities tend to be larger than those in the major cities,” said ATB chief economist Todd Hirsch in the ATB newsletter, The Owl. “Lethbridge and Fort Murray were the only medium-sized cities to be above the provincial average. And both Calgary and Edmonton gave less than then provincial average, although Calgarians were very close to average.” The median value of charitable donations by tax filers in the province was $440, the highest among all the provinces. In all locations in Alberta the median donation was well above the Canadian average of $280. The total value of donations reported by Canadian taxpayers rose 2.3 per cent to $8.8 billion in 2014. The largest increases were in Alberta (5.4 per cent), Manitoba (4.6 per cent) and Saskatchewan (3.1 per cent). Alberta has one of the highest charitable tax credits in Canada. For every dollar that is donated over $200, Albertans receive a non refundable tax credit of 50 per cent. The amount of the charitable tax credit depends on the total value of personal donations through the year.

REFLECTIONS

Letters to the Editor

by Bonnie Hutchinson Bad news antidotes “I stopped watching the news,” a friend said, “because it was so scary and depressing, but I like to be informed. Lately I’ve been watching documentaries. I thought they would be more objective and not upset me so much. But after a weekend of watching documentaries about how we’re running out of water, and horrible things happening all around the world, I’m left thinking the world is a terrible place.” This friend is one of the sunniest people I know – usually. ***

There’s a lot of it going around. Fear and pessimism are in the air. Mass media doesn’t help. Seems like the more we find out, the more we wish we hadn’t found out. We can’t instantly change mass media or the fact that we’re depleting planetary resources faster than the planet can replenish them. But we can do something about how we feel. When we feel better, we just might be able to change things that could use changing – like mass media and the planet! Here are five short-term antidotes to state-ofthe-world angst. What are some of your antidotes? ***

Spend time with real people. Hanging out in the virtual world makes us lose touch with real people and real things. Spend time with people you enjoy – people you care about who care about you and who are mostly encouraging, kind and optimistic. That will help you remember all the reasons it’s fun to be alive right now – and a privilege. Do something. Take small actions that move toward something you believe in, something that makes you happy. Action is an antidote to paralyzing fear and depression. Even something as simple as stretching for a minute or shaking out your arms and legs can shake up downer energy and lift your spirits. So can cleaning out a small pile of clutter, or writing a cheque to a favourite cause, or doing a random act of kindness. Thank somebody for something. It’s impossible to feel gratitude and feel depressed at the same time. Make a point of noticing something you genuinely appreciate about someone, and tell them. Write a note; send an e-mail or text; tell them in person. You’ll both feel uplifted. Tap into compassion. When you’re exposed to a bad news story, try to find a feeling of compassion for those affected. Consciously moving into a feeling of compassion changes our mood and energy for the better. We may not be able to change outward circumstances, but we can uplift our own emotions, thoughts and actions. That empowers us. (There’s also some credible evidence to suggest that focused positive energy may sometimes have a measurable impact, even from a distance, but that’s a topic for another time!) Find something to laugh about. Last week, I was in a serious meeting about serious problems for which there are no obvious quick fixes. One person told us a hilarious incident from the day before. By the time the guffaws and belly laughs died down, we were all more cheerful. The serious problems seemed much less formidable. Speaking of something to laugh about, I noticed that we can hear our very own local comedian Ken Valgardson on the free Camrose Now! app. Brilliant! That’s a good enough reason to download Camrose Now! A laugh a day keeps depression away. ***

These are all quick fixes to get us through dark moments. At some point (preferably now!) we as a species do need to address some challenges that will take more than quick fixes. The world needs all of our wisdom, commitment, integrity and willingness to work with others, some of whom we may not know or trust very much. But if, moment to moment, we can use quick fixes to restore and replenish our hope, our generosity and our clear thinking, we improve the odds of resolving thorny problems. If nothing else, many more moments of feeling better are a good enough reason for practically anything! ***

What do you do to lift your spirits when confronted with dark information? I’d love to hear from you! Send me a note at bonnie@bonniehutchinson.com. Your response will come directly to my private e-mail. If you have comments about this column or suggestions for future topics, send a note to Bonnie@BonnieHutchinson.com

Letters are welcomed but please limit them to 400 words or less and sign with first name, initial, surname, address and phone number; only name of writer and city or town will be printed. Letters to third parties are not accepted. The Camrose Booster may edit for clarity, legality, personal abuse, good taste, public interest and availability of space. The Camrose Booster thanks you for your interest in the letters page and encourages your comments. Bad driving habits Since I moved to Camrose some years back, I have always been amazed and completely ticked off by the driving habits of people in this city, especially the seniors. On Tuesday, March 8, I witnessed something that completely outshone anything previous. I was walking east on the service road just before the police station where 65 Street meets 48 Avenue. A car driven by an elderly lady started what I thought was a left turn onto 48 Avenue. Instead, she just missed the light pole with the walk signal switch, jumped the curb and proceeded down the service road toward the parking lot. The license plate was too dirty to read accurately and I can’t tell one car from another these days, so there was nothing I could report. Unless she was practicing for the Darwin Award I don’t know what her problem was. I do know something has to be done to test people to see if they should be on the road. Driving is not cheap fun anymore, it’s expensive to keep a car on the road when things go okay. This woman is just an accident looking for a place to happen. I know that when it comes to western Canada, rapid transit is a joke, but for the public good and safety at some point these people have to be taken off the road. John Parry, Camrose CamroseNow! My hat is off to all of you for an incredible accomplishment. I finally got around to downloading Camrose Now! on my phone and I am absolutely in awe. Like you say in your own advertising – it is truly appmazing! In all

my years being in business and living in Camrose, never before have I seen such a complete product. I am proud and excited to now have your one-stop-shop on my phone for anything and anybody I will ever need to source in the city. I cannot imagine how handy this app is going to be for me as well as for all other business people and consumers in the months and years ahead. For anyone new to the market, Camrose Now! will be magic in their hands. As a realtor, (40 years of service to the community as of June) having a complete residential and business phone book in my pocket at all times is going to be absolutely invaluable. I only wish I could have used something this good during my entire career! Going forward, I will use it to source and call appraisers, lawyers, utility companies and other “partners” whom I need to count on during the course of a typical business day. In reality, the product you have designed for this market has eliminated my need to have numerous other publications and product in my car, home and office. I applaud you on your vision and bringing this vision into the market. It’s crazy-good. Dale Bowal, Re/Max, Camrose Learning Centre To say I was disappointed when I heard of the closing of Learning Together Early Childhood Development Centre is an understatement. As the previous director, an early childhood educator and a parent who still utilizes the services, the loss to me personally and the community will be devastating. Since opening their doors in 2005, Learning Together has seen 187 children and 27 staff pass through their doors. Of these 187 children, 38 of them were referred to other community resources such as Camrose Family Resource Centre – A Parent Link Centre, Alberta Health Services – Children Rehabilitation Services, Camrose Family Literacy, Camrose Public Library, and other medical services to receive additional support with either developmental delays, health concerns, or

family and parenting support. The 27 Learning Together staff, of which 86 per cent of them had post secondary credentials in early childhood development, were more to those 187 children and their families than merely daycare staff-filling ratio. Every single one of those staff went above and beyond their minimum job requirements to ensure each child had a rich, nurturing, developmentally appropriate, and supportive experience when they entered the doors of the program. The Learning Together staff, past and present, have set the bar of what high quality childcare looks like. Their knowledge of developmental milestones and community resources, along with their ability to ensure each child has the materials, experiences, and environment to reach their potential, is not something you can teach someone in a classroom. Their experiences, their passion, and their nurturing characters have created an environment that can be neither easily replicated nor replaced. Though the population who utilized the program was small, I truly feel the whole community will feel the loss of this program. High quality child care increases a child’s school readiness by introducing him or her to literacy, promoting positive social interactions, refining fine motor skills such as letter writing and scissor cutting, exploring creativity, and having a better understanding of our community. According to findingqualitychildcare.ca the positive relation between child care quality and virtually every facet of children’s development that has been studied is one of the most consistent findings in developmental science. Having a child enter the school system with these skills, and possibly any delays already flagged with the proper supports in place, increases a child’s success in school and our community. It is truly unfortunate that our community has lost such a terrific opportunity for children to flourish and families to grow. Jolene Doig Camrose

• Sorting rules MUST be followed closely or else carts may not be emptied. • Ensure cart lids are completely closed so waste material is not spilled during collection. • Ensure material does not become wedged by loosely placing items in the cart. • Do not leave bags or items beside or on top of the carts without an “Additional Bag Tag” fixed to the item. Only material inside the carts will be collected. Drivers do not get out of the truck. • Set out the carts by 7:45 am according to your collection calendar. Your collection date will not change. • The maximum allowable cart weight cannot exceed 50 kg. When organics are sorted into their own cart, most families generate much less waste than before. However, if you cannot fit your waste into your waste cart with the lid closed tight, you can: • take extra waste to the sanitary landfill (tipping fees in effect) • purchase a solid waste collection tag for $5.00 per tag at City Hall, the Public Works office or at the Aquatic Centre View acceptable materials for the carts on our website at www.camrose.ca

Hawkins set to release new album By Murray Green

Ron Hawkins has long been revered as one of Canada’s greatest contemporary singer-songwriters. Camrose will be one of the first audiences to hear his latest creation. Hawkins will be in Camrose for an 8 p.m. show on Saturday, April 2, at the Bailey Theatre. “Every time I release a new album or go to place I haven’t been before, my name and music reaches out further,” said Hawkins. “I will be playing songs from my entire catalogue, but leaning towards focusing on the new material. I will be playing acoustic guitar along with some electric guitar by Brian MacMillan of Lowest of the Low, who will be joining me.” When Hawkins writes songs he feels they should stand on their own. “I focus on the acoustic guitar first and that goes back to my busking days. I have to be able to play every song by myself. Then when I add band members it fills out the sound,” said Hawkins. He will release his new album, Spit Sputter and Sparkle, showcasing his exemplary skills. Slated for a March 25 release, the album features 11 new originals, including the first single, “Beautiful Girl.” The new album was primarily recorded at his 55 Below home studio with Ron taking care of all vocals and instrumentation. “My little home studio is only nine feet by nine feet, but it’s packed with toys and musical goodies. It’s a bit like going down the rabbit hole,”

he said. “I spent the better part of a year down that rabbit hole and when I came out the other side Spit Sputter and Sparkle was born.” This is Ron’s 15th album of original material and due to lift him onto the musical pedestal he has clearly earned. Hawkins induced a selfimposed challenge to record and mix a full album of his more contemplative repertoire, all in one hot week of activity. “I’m a lyric based guy. I try and say something, send a message and tell stories that are not told that often. When you strip the music down to guitar and vocals it is very honest in the folk songs,” he added. “I like to get to know the entire country and music allows me to do that.”

As lead singer/multiinstrumentalist of Canada’s legendary Lowest of the Low, Ron has enjoyed many accolades through the years. Chart Magazine honoured the group’s 1991 debut album, Shakespeare My Butt, with a spot in the top 10 of the Top 100 Canadian Albums of All Time. Ron has received Toronto station 102.1 The Edge’s Lifetime Achievement Award (2000), and has been voted Songwriter of the Year by NOW Magazine’s reader’s poll in 2000 and once again in 2015. In 2008, Lowest of the Low was inducted into the Canadian Indie Rock Hall of Fame and awarded gold records for Shakespeare My Butt. Tickets are available at the Bailey Box Office or online.

The Camrose Kodiaks of the Alberta Junior Hockey League announced that defenceman Tyler Morrison (born 1995) has committed to MacEwan University in Edmonton. Morrison proved to be a dynamic player who will also be a strong player in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference. He spent three years in the Western Hockey League before finishing his junior career in Camrose. “Griffins coach Bram Stephen is building a power house and has done a great job in recruiting. Good coaching and the possibility of MacEwan turning CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport) in the future made this an easy decision for me,” said Morrison. “The Kodiaks organization would like to congratulate Tyler on his decision as he had many options to choose from and he chose MacEwan University. He is one of the finest young men I have coached and he will do great things not only in hockey, but in life,” said Kodiaks general manager and coach Boris Rybalka. Morrison earned two goals and an assist in three playoff games after collecting six goals and 28 points in 48 games with the Kodiaks during the regular season.

Lori Larsen, Camrose Booster Camrose Family Resource Centre – A Parent Link Centre takes part in the Welcome to Parenthood Alberta study. The baby kit contains all the necessities needed for a strong start to raising a child.

All are welcome!

Coordinated by several Camrose churches

Baby box program By Lori Larsen Camrose Family Resource Centre – A Parent Link Centre – is looking for first time mothers/parents to participate in the Welcome to Parenthood Alberta study. Participants must be 18 years of age or older, first time expectant mothers (preferably between 30-40 weeks into pregnancy), able to speak and read English well enough to complete questionnaires, and be willing to participate in a mentor relationship with another adult of their choosing. Eligible participants receive a box (baby kit) containing books, sleepers, a sleep sack, diapers, shampoo, a swaddling blanket, and a digital thermometer. The box itself is equipped with a mattress and can be used for the baby to sleep in until the baby starts to roll over, to ensure baby’s safety. There are 11 Parent Link Centres throughout the Province participating in research study through the University of Calgary and in partnership with Alberta Human Services. Welcome to Parenthood - AB is a way to ensure families receive the support needed when first entering the journey of parenthood. In Camrose the study began on Oct. 1 with 90 available kits. Besides the “baby kit” the new mother/father will attend an education session at the Parent Link Centre. They will receive information on attachment and bonding with their infant, mentorship, and community services available to assist in the parenting journey. The participants’ mentor must be 18 years of age or older and can be a friend, family member, neighbour, colleague or other choice of the expect-

ant parent. If the mother/parent can not self-identify a mentor, Camrose Family Resource Centre has some credible volunteers willing to step in. The role of the mentors involves one-on-one contact with the mother during pregnancy. Then, from the birth of the baby until six weeks, a weekly contact. Bi-monthly contacts will be made until the baby is six months old. “The mentor’s role is to support the mom through this journey until the baby is six months old,” explained Kari Cameron, of Camrose Family Resource Centre – A Parent Link Centre. “They (the mentor) must write about 20 journal entries describing what the mom did with the baby, how the mom is feeling, whether the mom needs anything and anything the baby has learned since the last visit.” The goals of the study are to increase awareness on early brain and biological development, provide information, education and mentorship in the crucial early stages of pregnancy and parenting, and develop an understanding of the resources available to new parents. The study itself began as a project from the University of Calgary Nursing Research Department to determine what support and information families need during the transition of pregnancy to childbirth. First time expectant mothers interested in participating are encouraged to contact Camrose Family Resource Centre – A Parent Link Centre, at 780-672-0141. For more information on the study, please contact Dr. Karen Benzies at benzies@ucalgary.ca or 403 -220 -2294.

City considering bus service By Dan Jensen The City of Camrose is looking into the possibility of a new rural bus service. “We are going to be having discussions with interested providers over the next couple of weeks and should know more in about a month,” said Camrose Mayor Norm Mayer in an address to Camrose Chamber of Commerce members March 2. Mayer envisions a daily route that would include Camrose, Wetaskiwin, Millet, Camrose, Hay Lakes and New Sarepta. “At this moment we are getting pricing and having discussions with all the municipalities in the areas, the towns and cities, to see if we can arrive at something that would be satisfactory,” he said. “It’s going to be a challenge, but we are working on it.” Expanded services The City has provided the Rose City Handi-van Society with an additional bus and operating funding to expand services to seniors at designated areas. “We are actually just kicking off the bus service so we will have a better idea as to how that will be working in the future,” said Mayer. “While we have made a reference to it being a service for seniors, it will not be exclusively that way, although those are the ones who are being served to start with. There will be some free time frames scheduled in the event a group wishing go to on a particular tour of the area or around the city.” The City is still in the process of evaluating a pilot program to provide subsidized taxi tokens valued at $4 to financially disadvantaged groups. “It gives the user a form of credit on their taxi costs,” said Mayer. “There has been a reasonably good pickup in using the tokens.” Mayer believes a true transit system for Camrose is financially out of reach. “There are several communities that have started a bus system and discontinued them because of cost,” he said. “It is a major subsidy system to have that.” The lack of a public transit system in Camrose has been identified as a concern from several demographic groups, particularly seniors and those with financial challenges.

Canadian music icon Tyson to play at Bailey Theatre By Murray Green

Although music legend Ian Tyson now considers a four date tour as a lengthy journey, the 82-year-old made sure to include Camrose on his list of concerts. Tour dates include Brooks, Red Deer, Cochrane and Camrose. He will be performing at the Bailey Theatre on Wednesday, May 4 beginning at 7 p.m. Tyson is a musician, rancher, storyteller and the Alberta icon will be bringing his songs and stories back to the local stage. His last appearance in Camrose was at the Big Valley Jamboree in 2015. Tyson is kept busy on his ranch in the foothills of the Alberta rockies mending fences, training horses and playing concerts from here to New Mexico. In the last 10 years, Tyson has released four albums, issued a two DVD concert video and filmed a music documentary for Bravo (which earned international film and television awards). He also penned an autobiography The Long Trail My Life in the West, and continues to be honoured for his achievements. His most recent 2015 CD release Carnero Vaquero has been critically acclaimed as being amongst his best music. He has received numerous Canadian Country Music Awards, membership in the elite Juno Awards Hall of Fame, three honorary Doctorates and is a proud member of the Order of Canada. “Four Strong Wings” was chosen Canada’s number one song of the 20th century. Tickets are available at www.baileytheatre.com and the Bailey Box Office.

Discovering which brands and products work best for your particular skin type may take some trial and error before producing winning results. But makeup lessons do not end with product selection. Learning the keys to proper application can help women make the most of their cosmetics. Highlighting and contouring, often referred to as “HAC,” has been perfected and used by professional makeup artists for some time. HAC has transformed the faces of many celebrities and is often the technique of choice to add dramatic effect to a woman’s look. The technique employs the use of lighter and darker shades of makeup to add dimension to the face with the intention of drawing attention to particular areas while downplaying others. With highlighting and contouring, women can even create the illusion of more prominent cheekbones or a smaller nose without having to undergo plastic surgery. Contouring involves adding shadows in certain places to define areas and enhance shapes. Areas that you desire to retreat from the eye for a more sculpted look should be contoured. Contouring can be done by using a concealer crayon that is a few shades darker than your

prevention in our community,” said Cherylyn. “The A-Fib program at St. Mary’s Hospital provides validity of the 60 second pulse check to detect undiagnosed atrial fibrillation as well as other potentially life threatening arrhythmias. In May 2015, the success of this project was presented at the Stroke Congress, reaching a national and international audience. You have worked towards provincial standardization. These ordersets will be shared with 14 smaller Primary Stroke Centres in Alberta so we can provide the best stroke care treatment guidelines to those we serve in Rural Alberta.” Three nominations were received for the Sisters of Providence Award. Along with the Heart and Stroke team nomination, the Operating Room team and Rosanne Urkow were nominated for the Sisters of Providence award. Cherylyn thanked everyone for their dedication to St. Mary’s. “Tonight 42 staff members and volunteers will receive milestone awards for their commitment and dedicated work to St. Mary’s,” she said. “Together, that is 710 years of service and that is amazing. Covenant Health St. Mary’s wouldn’t be what it is today without the investment each one of you made in dedication to serving patients, collaborating with your colleagues and providing best practice models. You have overcome obstacles, seized opportunities and you continue to grow.” Urkow of the Unit 4 team and nursing room attendant Sheila Carriere received a special honour for reaching 30 years of service. Schroeder named ACAC curler of the year By Murray Green

www.agriterraeq.com

Brad Schroeder of the Augustana Vikings was named the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) men’s curling player of the year. Schroeder led the Augustana Vikings men’s curling team as skip for two straight years, constantly improving upon his skill and leadership abilities. His dedication to the team and expertise in the game has been the major contributor to his team’s first place, 8-2 record during the fall and winter regional competitions. Schroeder and his team had the opportunity to throw the first rock at the 2016 Boston Pizza Cup, the Alberta provincial men’s playdown held in Camrose. “Brad has a calm and quiet demeanor, but is steadfast in his confidence as a skip and leader. His ability to get others to follow his lead has contributed to the program’s success,” said coach Roger Galenza about the fourth year political studies major from Coronation on his career as a Viking. Schroeder’s past achievements include winning an ACAC championship in 2012-13 as a first year skip of the mixed curling team. The same year also saw him named to the ACAC all conference team and he took home Augustana Athletics’ overall rookie of the year award. During his first year of involvement with Augustana’s curling program, he obtained a coaching certificate. He has since volunteered with Augustana’s Little Rocker program to help children aged six to 13 learn the sport of curling and develop their skills on the ice at the Rose City Curling Club. Schroeder shares this year’s honour with skip Ryan Dahmer from the Red Deer College Kings.

Helen Agatha Blatz 1915 ~ 2006 GONE 10 YEARS Don’t think of her as gone away Her journey’s just begun, Life holds so many facets The Earth is only one. Just think of her as resting From the sorrows and the tears, In the place of warmth   and comfort Where there are no days   or years. Think how she must be  wishing That we could know today, How nothing but our sadness Can really pass away. And think of her as living In the hearts of those   who touched her, For nothing loved is ever lost And she was loved so much. – The Alex Blatz families, all her grand and great-great-grandchildren

Kodiaks move on to second round, face Okotoks

By Murray Green

The Camrose Kodiaks swept the Olds Grizzlys in three straight games in the first round of the southern division playoffs in the Alberta Junior Hockey League. The sweep allowed the Kodiaks to take on the Okotoks Oilers in the next round. “We now have confidence going into the next series against Okotoks. It feels good. We knew what we had to do and we executed,” said goalie Patrick Gora. In the series winning game, the Kodiaks mauled Olds with three tallies in the opening period and cruised to a 7-2 victory on March 13. Mackenzie Bauer led the attack with a hat trick including the first two goals of the contest. Paul Lovsin also scored in the first. After the Grizzlys replied early in the second on a power play opportunity, Bauer completed his hat trick and Ryan Hartman tacked on another marker. Camrose took advantage of Grizzly penalties and scored two in the third with Tyler Morrison and Angus Scott notching the goals. Gora was strong in the net, making 33 saves on 35 shots. Camrose fired 48 shots at the Grizzlys. The Kodiaks were waiting for the playoffs to begin. “Every team goes through some slumps, but we figured it out. It is playoff time and we are ready to go. The team is playing well

Angus Scott of the Camrose Kodiaks fights for the puck in front of the Olds Grizzlys net.

defensively by holding the opposition to about 15 shots, so it makes it easier for me,” said Gora. “Everyone is doing their job and playing great.” Five different snipers collected goals on the Grizzlys in a 5-2 win in Camrose on March 11. The Kodiaks outscored Olds 2-1 in both of the first two periods. Ethan James, Ryan Rebelato, Lovsin, Cam Gotaas and Bauer collected the single markers. Gora was allowed to catch up on his sleep as Olds only mustered 12 shots on

goal. Camrose peppered Olds with 42 shots on net. In the opening game of the series, the Kodiaks again spread the scoring around with five different scorers in a 5-1 victory on March 10. Rebelato and Cole McBride netted markers in the first. T.J. Brown scored in the second before Olds hit the scoreboard with eight seconds left on the clock in the middle frame. Morrison and James added insurance tallies in the third. Gora turned away 18 of 19 shots, while Camrose

blasted 47 at the Grizzlys’ cage. “Okotoks is a tougher opponent for us and they beat us four times this year. We have to be prepared and ready. They have good players and I have to be ready for more shots,” said Gora. General manager and coach Boris Rybalka watched 10 hours of video in less than two days to find weaknesses in the Oilers. “We went over it on the ice and now we will go over it again. Some guys like to be told, while others need visu-

als,” explained Rybalka. “Our motto as a staff is to expect the unexpected. We will prepare to react to both the things they used in the past to beat us and for the things they used late in the season to have success against other clubs.” The Kodiaks were happy to face Olds in the first round. “We like the aggressive style to prepare us for the next series. Okotoks wasn’t as physical in their first series, but we are going to continue to be aggressive and play our game. It’s been three months since we played them and we are not the same team anymore,” said Rybalka. “We like the physical series, even if a few guys were injured. It avoids bad habits and what I like to call pond hockey. Olds forced us to make snappy, good decisions and as a team we benefitted from that. We are going to up the pace and go after them (Okotoks) and play our game.” Bear facts

Games three and four of the Kodiaks-Oilers series will be in Okotoks on March 22 and 24. If needed, game five will be in the EnCana Arena on March 26 at 7 p.m. Game six would be back in Okotoks on March 28 and game seven would start at 7 p.m. on March 30 in Camrose if necessary. Tickets are on sale at the Kodiaks office from 1 to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday. The box office also opens one hour before game time.

Vikings hockey team eliminates Keyano, advances to final By Murray Green

The Augustana Vikings hockey team needed three games to defeat the Keyano Huskies in one of the semifinals in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference. The Vikings then advanced to the league finals against the NAIT Ooks. “We had a weekend off, so it was good to get pushed by Keyano to get us into the playoff mode,” said captain Scott Swiston. “Anything can happen in the playoffs and the team that works the hardest usually ends up with the win.” Augustana won the deciding game in the best of three series on Sunday, March 13, with a hard-working 4-3 win in Camrose. “Getting to a game three, although not always ideal to play back to back games, shows we can do it and win the games we want to win,” explained Swiston. Evan Warmington garnered the winner in the third with help from Beau Taylor and Boyd Wakelin. The Huskies made it close with their third goal with 15 seconds left, but it was too late for a comeback. Jeff Lorenz, Corey Kosloski and Connor McLaughlin also scored in the exciting contest.

Murray Green, Camrose Booster Scott Swiston of the Augustana Vikings fires a shot towards the open net, but Keyano goalie Jamie Tucker slid over to make the save in time at the EnCana Arena.

Goalie Andy Williams made 30 of 33 saves. The Vikings fired 34 at the Keyano net. “You look at the schedule; NAIT faced some lower teams going into playoffs and then beat Red Deer two straight. They haven’t been pushed for a while and that could be to our advantage. If we come out with a good

start, we can catch them off guard,” said Swiston. “We know what a three game series is about and they (NAIT) don’t, so that is an advantage for us. If we can win the first one they will be shaking in their boots a little. They haven’t learned to lose. We have come close a couple of times against them.”

Augustana sent the Ooks to overtime early in the season. “We are not worried in our dressing room. We have confidence that we can beat these guys,” said Swiston. Netminder Harry Fredemen had a bad start to the second game and made four of seven saves before Williams took over

to stop all 11 shots he faced. However, it was too late as Keyano built up a 3-0 lead in the first and hung on dearly to win 3-2. McLaughlin scored both Augustana goals to spark the team as they peppered the Huskies with 38 shots on goaltender Jamie Tucker. In the first game, won by Augustana 4-2, the Vikings scored three second period tallies to take control of the game. Alex Rodgers scored twice and Warmington scored in the middle frame. Pat Thompson-Gale opened the scoring for the local squad. Goalie Fredemen turned away 25 of the 27 shots he faced. “They (NAIT) do have more skill, so we have to be aware of that,” said Swiston. “We need a high guy, so they don’t get easy break outs. When we play our game every single time it gives us a chance to win. Power play goals against hurt us in the last series and that is something we talked about and addressed. We can’t shoot ourselves in the foot. I’m excited for the series.” The Vikings played NAIT in the final series from March 18 to 20.

2016 Ford Edge A showcase of innovation Craig Beddoes

By Dan Jensen

With its bold design, the 2016 Ford Edge at Lamb Ford Sales in Camrose will definitely get you noticed. Edge sets itself apart with a dynamic grille, sleek roof and aerodynamic shape and a commanding profile. “The inviting and charismatic design of the 2016 Ford Edge inspires confidence, turns heads and changes the way you feel about everyday driving,” said Lamb Ford Sales sales manager Brett Read. “There’s something inspiring about the power dome hood, raised belt lines and boldly sculpted shoulders around the wheel arches. It’s a proud, impressive look with sharp angles and graphic lines.” Power to go

Three different engines provide more than enough attitude under the hood. The Twin-Scroll 2.0 litre EcoBoost offers lively acceleration and passing performance. This standard powerhouse produces 245 hp and 275 lb.-ft. of lowend torque. The engine also features available Auto Stop-Start technology for improved fuel efficiency. In city driving, the engine automatically shuts off when the vehicle comes to a stop. Then as traffic once again starts to

move, the engine automatically restarts when your foot leaves the brake pedal. The available 3.5 litre twin independent variable camshaft timing (Ti-VCT) can be easily described in two words: no compromise. It delivers 280 horsepower and 250 lb.-ft. of torque. With conventional valve timing, the intake and exhaust valves have to open and close at a fixed point, compromising performance. But Ti-VCT virtually eliminates this compromise. With its variable control of valve cam timing, Ti-VCT can optimize performance across the entire low, mid and high ranges of the power band to match driving conditions. The dynamic 2.7-litre EcoBoost® engine that powers the Ford Edge Sport kicks out 315 horsepower and 350 lb.-ft. of torque. The Active Grille Shutters, standard on EcoBoost® models, help to reduce air resistance and optimize fuel efficiency. When the Active Grille Shutters are fully closed, vehicle aerodynamics are improved by reducing airflow through the radiator. With the front air curtains, aero ducts are positioned on the lower fascia of the vehicle. Air is guided through these ducts and forced out

across the front wheel wells, creating an air curtain down the vehicle side. You don’t have to know how to drive a manual transmission or learn how to master a clutch to enjoy the sporty feel of shifting gears. Using race-inspired technology, the steering wheelmounted paddles provide an engaged driving experience by letting you easily and quickly go from gear to gear without taking your hands off the wheel. Adaptive Cruise Control and Collision Warning with Brake Support represents a major step beyond conventional cruise control. When its radar sensor detects traffic slowing ahead, your vehicle also slows down. After traffic has cleared, your vehicle resumes the preset speed. This system lets the driver set distance, speed and the time gap between vehicles. The system can also alert you to a potential collision by flashing a warning on the windshield, sounding an alarm, and prepping the braking system to help. Adaptive steering

Available Adaptive Steering is the next evolution in steering technology. The system controls the relationship between how much the driver turns the wheel and how much

the front wheels turn. Lowspeed steering – such as pulling into a parking space – requires much less turning of the wheel. Enhanced Active Park Assist is designed with side parking sensors to give you confidence and help make perpendicular and parallel parking a breeze. While driving slowly near parking spots, activate this feature and Ford Edge will scan for available spaces. Ultrasonic sensors measure the distance from other vehicles, and once an appropriate spot is identified, you’re signaled to stop and accept the system’s assistance. With a few actions on your part – shifting, accelerating and braking – the vehicle can smoothly parallel park or back into a perpendicular parking space. At slow speeds, Ford Edge helps you see around corners, down alleys and even helps while you’re pulling out of parking spots, thanks to the available 180-degree camera tucked into the grille. An included pop-out washer helps keep the lens clean and your view clear. Interior design

The quality and craftsmanship can be seen and felt everywhere throughout the interior of 2016 Ford Edge. The Edge Titanium

features a standard leather-wrapped steering wheel and leather-trimmed sport seats. Other smart touches include metal-plated accents, mechanical stripe aluminum applique, illuminated scuff plates and ambient lighting. Choose lighting that fits your mood with the available seven-colour programmable Ambient Lighting feature that’s standard in Titanium and Sport. LEDs illuminate various areas such as the front foot wells and cup holders. Choose Ice Blue®, Orange, Soft Blue, Red, Green, Blue or Purple. The elegance and craftsmanship of design can be seen all around – and above you. The available panoramic Vista Roof® features a large forward panel that tilts up or opens fully, plus a fixed rear skylight. So whether you’re sitting up front or in back, the Vista Roof® lets in more of the world above. With the available second-row EasyFold® seat release, you can maximize your cargo space with the touch of a button. You can see the 2016 Ford Edge at Lamb Ford Sales on Highway 13 East Camrose. Be wary of callers asking for money

Camrose residents should be wary of telephone calls asking them to pay income taxes or utility bills using a credit card or online money/wire transfer service. As part of a new scam that is making its rounds, individuals claiming to be from Revenue Canada are telling people they owe back taxes as the result of an audit and a payment must be made immediately to avoid a fine. In some versions of the scam the call recipient is told there is an outstanding warrant or legal action that can be avoided if the payment is made immediately or that they’ll be deported or arrested if payment is not made right away. “The Canada Revenue Agency will sometimes contact individuals by telephone,” said Service Alberta, “but never requests payment over the telephone in any form.” Individuals claiming to be from Direct Energy or Enmax inform the person they are calling their electricity account is in arrears and threaten to shut off their electricity unless payment is made with either a pre-paid credit card or online payment method such as PayPal. Service Alberta suggests that those who are contacted try to verify the validity of the calls by asking for details of their account, which only they and their retailer will know, including account address, payment history (including the date and amount of the last payment and how it was made). If suspicious they should tell the caller they are hanging up and calling the local number listed for the energy retailer or the Canada Revenue Agency. The call recipients should not provide any personal, or financial information, be swayed by deadlines and aggressive tactics, or believe their telephone’s caller ID. “The caller may have altered (the ID) to make it appear that the call is originating from a legitimate company,” said Service Alberta. Anyone who receives a phone call that he or she suspects was legitimate BRH not Barrhead Leader is urged to report it to the CanaBNV Bonnyville Nouvelle dian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501, or by using CMB Camrose Booster its online fraud reporting sysCanmore Rocky Mountain O tem atRMO www.antifraudcentrecentreantifraude,ca/indexLLB Lac La Biche Post eng.htm. Adjudicators confirmed for Camrose and District Music Festival

NOTICE OF VISION CREDIT UNION

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING Thursday, March 24, 2016 7:00 p.m. Norsemen Inn, Camrose

Katy Skinner

Holly De Caigny

The Camrose and District Music Festival April 11 to 15 will highlight young local talent in music, dance and speech arts. There will be about 30 sessions for your enjoyment taking place at various venues around Camrose. Musical theatre nights are Tuesday and Wednesday. The community music night at Messiah Lutheran Church on Monday will feature community choirs, while the community music night in the CCHS east gym on Tuesday will feature family groups, vocal ensembles and the Community Band. Step into the Lougheed Performing Arts Centre on Monday evening and during the day Monday and Tuesday to see the dance performances. Watch for details in the Festival at a Glance ad, or visit the festival website at ww.camrosemusicfestival. ca. We are excited that the grand concert this year, featuring some of the best performances of the festival, will be held at the Jeanne and Peter Lougheed Performing Arts Centre on Tuesday, April 19, at 7 p.m. Katy Skinner Kathleen Luyk (née Skinner), B.Mus. (University of British Columbia, 2003), M.Mus. Choral Conducting (University of Alberta, 2005), is the Executive Director of Edmonton’s Kokopelli Choir Association. She is also in her twelfth season with the young adult choir Òran and her second season with the adult choir Vacilando, both part of the Kokopelli Choirs family. Kathleen (Katy) is also a proud alumna of Kokopelli. As a conductor, Katy strives to pair a wellresearched pedagogy of excellence with the notion that choral singing is an incredible force in building community. Prior to finishing her post-secondary education, Katy spent two years as

the assistant conductor of the U of A Madrigal Singers under the direction of Dr. Leonard Ratzlaff. Kathleen was the music director at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church until recently, where she led two adult choirs and a children’s choir. Since 2010, Kathleen has taken on a different role as the executive director for the Kokopelli Choir Association. As a conductor and composer on the Alberta choral scene, Katy has been engaged as a clinician, guest conductor, vocal coach, and adjudicator for choirs and singers around Canada. Recent appearances include the Vancouver Kiwanis Festival 2014, leading Òran at Podium 2014 (the biannual gathering of Choral Canada), and the Cantando Festival in Edmonton in May 2015. Katy sits on the Alberta Choral Federation board, as well as an advisory panel for Choral Canada. Holly De Caigny Born and raised outside of Vancouver, Holly De Caigny fell in love with the saxophone in high school and decided soon after that to pursue music in post secondary studies. She received a Bachelor of Music in saxophone performance at the University of British Columbia, under the tutelage of Julia Nolan, before moving to Calgary where she received a Masters degree in saxophone performance, studying with Dr. Jeremy Brown. Holly has competed in many international competitions, such as the North American Saxophone Alliance competition in South Carolina, the International Adolphe Sax competition in Dinant, Belgium, and the Paris Duo competition. She has also performed internationally as a soloist, in a duo, and in quartets in Canada, the US, France, Belgium, Slovenia, and Thailand. She has performed with

Helpful Tips for Writing Classified Ads Which Get Results! Be Thorough

Sure you want your ad to stand out from the rest, but don’t skimp on the sort of information that sells. The item’s condition, size, age, brand name, and color are some of the basics readers want to know. Without them, your ad may be overlooked.

Steer Clear of Abbreviations

Okay, so you want to include all the important basics. Don’t use strange abbreviations because our ads are designed to spell all the important details. Besides, you are not paying by the line, but by the word, so there is really no need to abbreviate.

Be Honest

Exaggerating your item’s finer points may bring in a lot of responses, but a buyer who’s misled won’t appreciate it and will take his business somewhere else.

State Your Price

The cost of an item is one of the most important concerns of want ad readers. Ads showing prices are ones which get results. Giving a price also serves to “weed out” those buyers not in your price range.

Be Accessible

Including a telephone number or address puts you in touch with potential buyers. Be sure to state the hours you can be reached: a caller who can’t get through the first time often won’t call again.

Don’t hesitate to call us with any questions or problems you may have regarding advertising. Our professionally trained sales staff know the ropes, and would be happy to pass their know-how on to you. That’s why we’re here, to help you get the results you deserve.

Local Rotary clubs aim to stop hunger

By Lori Larsen

The Rotary Clubs of Camrose in partnership with Stop Hunger Now, an organization motivated by the vision to have a world without hunger, will be hosting a meal packing event at the Max McLean arena on May 15. “Our goal is to pack 50,000 meals in one day,” said Destiny Reay, president of the Rotary Club of Camrose Daybreak, in a presentation to City council’s Feb. 1 meeting. “We are asking Camrose volunteers to come and help us in a one day food packing extravaganza.” The event requires about 150 to 200 volunteers. In order to pack 50,000

meals 180 individual shifts of two hours each need to be covered. High energy

The event itself is filled with high energy and fun and is open to anyone ages four and up wanting to join others from the community doing something that will make a difference in not only Camrose but the world. “They play music and try to make it like a party,” said Reay. “They bang a gong for every thousand meals that are packed.” The Max McLean was chosen as the venue for a variety of reasons. In addition to being easily accessible for unloading and loading the

trucks with the food packaging materials and the finished meals, there is the capability of having sponsor boards and the stands provide the opportunity for spectators to come and cheer on the volunteers in their mission to complete 50,000 packages. “How often do you get to bring 180 people from different walks of life together for one goal,” said Reay. “This is a great opportunity for community members to make a difference both locally and globally.” As well as packaging 50,000 meals to fight world hunger, donations for the local food bank will be collected during the event, as well as at any

of the locations for the bottle drive. “We get to support our local food bank, play a role in ending hunger and unite as community volunteers for one common goal,” said Reay. Fundraising

Putting on such a worth while event doesn’t come without some cost. “We need to raise $25,000 to cover costs,” said Reay. Costs include the ingredients and packaging for the 50,000 meals, a venue fee and some advertising and volunteer recruitment. To cover some of these costs the clubs have initiated a city wide bottle drive campaign

that will take place between February and May. “We are looking for the help of the community to donate bottles at any of the “Stop the Hunger Now” bottle drive locations,” explained Reay. “We have a trailer with logos (Stop the Hunger Now) on it which is going to be located all over the city for the next four months.” The trailer will make stops at hockey games, schools, churches and business throughout Camrose for people wishing to donate those empty bottles that have been taking up room in the garage or other places to a good cause. Rotary tries to stop the hunger Continued from page 35

As well, there will be a space on the event website, www.camrosestophunger. com, to type in an address at which donated bottles can be picked up. The clubs hope to secure some corporate sponsors to provide funding for the event and requested a donation from city council. Hunger organization

Stop Hunger Now is an organization based out of Raleigh, North Carolina with a mission to end global hunger. “For the last 17 years Stop the Hunger has been providing food packing event opportunities for people in North America and Europe. The objective is to provide sustainable food packaging to Third World countries in crises situations,” described Reay. The organization has provided over 225 million meals to 73 countries around the world and involved over 500,000 volunteers in meal packaging. The organization sends a team of approximately twenty people from the US to the event location to deliver the packaging materials and food and assist in creating an exciting event atmosphere. The meal packages consist of rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables and a flavouring mix and include 23 essential vitamins and minerals. Alarming Statistics

The statistics on hunger are staggering and prove that events such as this are crucial. Every six seconds a child dies from hunger. More than 22,000 people die every day from hunger or hunger related diseases. Each year hunger kills more people than tuberculosis, AIDS and malaria combined. There are 925 million people world wide that suffer from hunger. One in every nine people in the world go to bed hungry each night. The Rotary Clubs of Camrose invite you to make a difference in those numbers by volunteering at the Stop Hunger Now event on May 15, donating bottles to their bottle drive, and donating to the food bank. “The Rotary clubs and you (residents) can pack 50,000 meals in one day,” concluded Reay. “We will support our local food bank. We will have fun. We will make a difference and we will stop hunger now.” For more information on the Stop Hunger Now event and the fundraising, or to find out how you can get involved, visit www.camrosestophunger. com.

Happy Easter! Bridget Vinesation Owner

Here are a few ideas from Bridget to make Easter dinner tastier.

No Baste Turkey Rub The ‘perfect bird’ every time with no basting required and it’s so easy. A golden brown bird, tender and juicy, accompanied by the most sumptuous gravy imaginable. Try adding some to your stuffing or dressing too! Pair with Vinesation’s Blood Orange or Lemon Olive Oil.

Express what’s on your mind. Share your opinion and your point of view.

Cranberry Sauce Ingredients: - 12-ounces fresh cranberries (pkg) - 1 cup white sugar - 3/4 cup orange juice - 1/4 cup Vinesation Cranberry Pear Balsamic Vinegar Directions: In a medium sized saucepan over medium heat, dissolve the sugar in the orange juice. Stir in the cranberries and cook until the cranberries start to pop (about 10 minutes). Remove from heat and place sauce in a bowl. Cranberry sauce will thicken as it cools.

Beautiful family two storey

Use your favorite bun recipe and once out of the oven brush with Vinesation Dill Olive Oil and then sprinkle with dill or try our New Herbs de Provence Olive Oil for a nice savory bun this Easter.

Pie Use your favorite apple pie recipe and drizzle 2 Tbsps., Vinesation’s Cinnamon Pear Balsamic Vinegar over fruit then bake as usual. We have some lovely Balsamics that can be added to any fruit pie for an extra burst of flavor.
