Always better – always better read

Local drone expert Jeff Ordze from Audio Video Unlimited captured this amazing view of one of three purple martin houses owned and maintained by Rod Ross at his acreage several kilometres south of Camrose. Rod and his granddaughter Addy are visible in the photo looking up and admiring 23 pairs of martins.

The birds will make the 9,000-kilometre return flight to Brazil through mid-August after breeding and fledging their young. Further evidence of the popularity of protecting and enhancing the population of these large swallows is the appeal of the

The day will provide an immense amount of information about purple martins, helpful backyard birding advice and, this year, will also feature a presentation on mountain bluebirds from distinguished researcher Lois Johnson.
