initiative. All proceeds will be directed to Camrose Women’s Shelter. Last year over $23,000 was raised during this novel, but exciting, fundraiser. Hoping to surpass this amount as a result of Thursday’s high-profile walk, this year the money will be used to support the Shelter’s Second Stage Housing initiative. Second Stage housing is defined as stable, longer-term, self-contained, safe, affordable private living units for women fleeing domestic violence and supported programming for service recipients. It’s another milestone for the local Shelter’s mandate, which has been doing amazing work for 30-plus years.
