Staff at the Emergency Clothing and Furniture Depot in Camrose have been collecting and storing winter apparel since last spring.
On Wednesday, October 18 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Thursday, October 19 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., in preparation for the cold weather ahead, nearly 4,000 coats, toques, mittens, etc. will be available free of charge or in exchange for a monetary donation of your ability or choosing. This endeavour is called Coats for Camrose. This blitz will be held immediately inside the east entrance of the Duggan Mall in the former Bingo Hall location. Duggan Mall provides this space free of charge. No referral is necessary. No screening will take place. If you need clothing for winter comfort or warmth, this is your opportunity to benefit from the extreme generosity of individuals from Camrose and area. In the days leading up to Coats for Camrose, and while it is taking place, people can continue to donate winter wear which is in immediately usable condition. All items must be clean. Zippers need to work. Highest demand clothing includes young children’s jackets and snowsuits and coats for kids under 16 years of age.
