Camrose Heritage Railway Museum and Park summer employee, Leah Marshall, dons original Norwegian garb, on loan from Peggy Shuman from her mother’s early wardrobe, as she whips up some interest for the upcoming Tribute to Scandinavian Settlers to be held at the Station on July 6.
Join the Camrose Heritage Railway Museum and Park in celebrating the rich and important Scandinavian culture and history that has shaped Camrose and surrounding area into the wonderful place it is today. On July 6 from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. the Station will be hosting a Tribute to Scandinavian Settlers by honouring the early Norwegian and Swedish settlers with this special event. Featuring Daryl Olson recollecting stories of his family and their experiences first settling in the region. Fiddler Alfie Myhre will be entertaining with his remarkable musical talents and Marie Dreger will be demonstrating rose malling. See page 2 of this edition for more information on upcoming events hosted by the Camrose Heritage Railway Station and Park and the Meeting Creek Heritage Railway Station and Linear Park including the Tribute to Scandinavian Settlers.
