Tasha Ellen Stremel September 24, 1980 ~ June 5, 2021 Tasha Ellen Stremel passed away on June 5, 2021, at the age of 40. Tasha was born on September 24, 1980, in Camrose, Alberta, to Daryl and Lois Blume. She attended all of her schooling in Camrose and graduated high school in 1998. During and after high school, Tasha worked various jobs, such as waitress, hotel desk clerk, store clerk, bank teller, and after graduating an administrative assistant course, obtained a job at Battle River Power Coop. She loved her receptionist position and enjoyed interacting with the public and fellow staff members. Tasha married Paul Stremel in December 2006. They had two children, Olivia in 2004 and Michael in 2007. The kids were the lights of Tasha’s life. Tasha enjoyed many friends, who appreciated her positive and cheerful nature. Tasha was very determined, and when she decided to accomplish something, there was no roadblock she could not overcome. Sadly, in November 2020, Tasha was diagnosed with cancer. She fought valiantly until she passed away in St. Mary’s Hospital on June 5, 2021. Left to cherish Tasha’s memory are her husband Paul; beloved children Olivia and Michael; mother Lois Blume; sister Jody Blume (Chris Ball); stepfather Ed Carbonneau; one niece; two nephews; two great-nieces; three great-nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Tasha was predeceased by her father Daryl Blume; grandparents Gordon and Lil Blume, and Harvey and Nancy Fossen; uncle Dean Fossen; and aunt Linda (Blume) Nicol. We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to friends and family for their condolences and support during this difficult time. Thank you to Dr. Minders and the nursing staff on Unit 2 at St. Mary’s Hospital for the wonderful care and kindness shown to Tasha while she was a patient in the hospital. Thank you to Burgar Funeral Home for their assistance with memorial arrangements. Tasha will be deeply missed by all of her friends and family. We will lovingly hold her in our hearts forever. – Lois Blume and family

Q.

Are all Battle River Community Foundation funds the same?

A.

No! The Foundation offers seven different kinds of funds, one of which can certainly be tailored to suit your personal philanthropic needs. The most general type is a “Community Fund” which allows the BRCF Grants Committee of the day to choose projects that address emerging needs throughout the area served.
