FHR flows into 2020
As of 1 January 2020, the mandatory use of a Frontal Head Restraint (FHR) came into effect for Speed events. With the mandatory use only applied to certain vehicles, depending on their Motorsport Australia classification, the following chart can help members determine whether they are required to use a FHR safety device. For the regulations please refer to Motorsport Australia Manual; Schedule D - Apparel ONLINE. Click here to view and download the FHR in Speed Events Flow Chart The use of Frontal Head Restraints (FHR) has become mandatory in SPEED Events for vehicles that are determined as meeting certain criteria. The following chart will aid in determining which vehicles will require the use of FHR: NOTE: It is permitted to apply to Motorsport Australia for a Log Book to be re-classified for SPEED Events. Is it a Superkart? Does the vehicle hold a Motorsport Australia Log Book? Does the Log Book contain a classification that can be applied for: • Race • Rally/Road • Off Road (Regardless if it is road registered or not) Is it a 5 th Category Historic J, K or L vehicle – or otherwise issued with an FHR exemption?
