Public Administration, as a field, had always captivated me right from my undergraduate days. I believe my curiosity for this field comes from my family. Both my father and my uncle were politicians. During my early days, I used to go to my father's office where I had a great chance to observe different kinds of people with various jobs and interests. This was the first time I learned how mutual interests bring people together. When I understood how public relations work naturally, it forced me strongly to study and comprehend the complex theory ofpolitics. I plan on putting together a small jazz ensemble for performing gigs, and Bozeman as a small college town presents multiple opportunities for hiring a small jazz group for background music. Creation of said jazz ensemble would further my capabilities as a leader as not only would I be putting together this group but would also work towards getting word out about the group across town and to people looking to hire. Thus I would be furthering both my leadership skills and my ability to network which are both crucial skills to later career development after college, and I would be a step closer towards achieving my goal of spreading happiness through music.

On top of that, Bozeman has beautiful campgrounds, adventurous hiking trails, and fantastic skiing. The outdoor life offered by Bozeman would further my academic interests as I would be studying in a location well known for it's beautiful environment. As a student who wants to protect said environment, studying at MSU where I can continue to fall in love with the great outdoors would encourage my passion for protecting the environment and consequently push me as a scholar to reach out for my goal of developing more environment–friendly

I have always loved looking and participating in art classes, although I am not the best artist, and I enjoy learning about the history behind different art techniques. I feel like I could provide an interesting perspective to this program, for the main reason of having been apart of programs similar to this one during previous summers. I work well with others, and I always try to keep an open mind as to avoid biases and to be more empathetic and understanding towards others. I am very adaptive to my surroundings even if that means changing topics within a classroom discussion. Something else about me is that I am what is known as an ambivert. This means that I sit in the scale between being and introvert and an extrovert. At the time I was applying to grad school, I knew only vaguely what I wanted and I had nearly made up my mind to attend the University of Washington in Seattle. But the scholarship offer from Texas A&M University and the realization that the Indian government does not recognize one–year graduate degrees (as is the case with University of Washington) made me reconsider my decision. Ultimately, I chose to attend A&M for my graduate studies in Construction Management, still unaware of the full ramifications of my decision.

It is safe to say now that I am positively in love with College Station, its relatively mild weather and its friendly residents. I have made several truly wonderful friends over the last semester. At the time of accepting the offer letter from A&M I did not know about the immense industry support that my department enjoyed, which translated into superior facilities and opportunities for the students. The fact that it is an R1 research University and provides excellent opportunities for research to all its students is an enormous bonus – it will make my transition into PhD that much easier and I will be well prepared when the time comes.

My future is something I often think about. Most often, the questions that arise include the common doubts of "Am I doing this right?", or even the occasional midnight philosophical questions such as "Why are we here?", and so on. For the purpose of this essay, I will focus on the factors that have allowed me to reach this point in my life and how these factors influenced and continue to influence me, in order to provide me with a visualization of my future. Factors that contributed to my current life choices include the desperate want to be something greater, as well as to experience the world in ways some could only dream of. I study hard, allowing for me to have the possibility of an early graduation. I dream big, allowing me with the imagination to draw up plans for myself and my future. I work hard, allowing me the strength and vision to execute my plans for the future. The way that I was raised has greatly benefited me. My parents have taught me that anything and everything is possible as long as you work hard for it despite the what others may tell you or even if the odds are against you. Another factor that led to my current life, is the amount of time I allow myself to think about my plans and refine them. This is extremely important because, without a solid, flexible, long–term plan, you could get lost in dreaming about the future, and end up not accomplishing anything. Hence, many aspects of my life have been planned out with not one or two possible alternatives
